Software News : AmiKit 1.4.0 released

We are pleased to announce the final version of AmiKit 1.4.0 has been released. Many things were re-worked and enhanced (screenshot).

- AmiKit now supports three different working environments: Magellan II, Scalos and Workbench.
- new startup graphics, logos, themes and other graphics painted by Ken Lester.
- all the icons are now provided in 32bit DualPNG format, also painted by Ken Lester.
- AmiKit Launcher is now skinable thanks to Rex Schilasky.
- two registered games has been added as well (with the permission of EMV-Software).

Note that only the full installer is available at the moment. The update archive able to update your older AmiKit installation will be released soon.

I did just test AmiKit to see what it is. It's quite nice package for those who doesn't have real Amigas any more.

A LOT of work has gone into this.

Along with a LONG list of updates & changes, there are a couple of cool additions that I wanted to point out:

-- Wet 5.1 by Chris Young (68k port by Bernd Gollesch) -- a very cool weather app previously only available on OS4.

-- Scalos 1.7 (41.5) beta -- Thanks to Juergen who made changes right up until release to make this work in the AmiKit environment.
