Brussels, December 31, 2016

Hyperion Entertainment is proud to announce the immediate release of AmigaOS 4.1 Final Edition Update 1 for all supported systems including PowerPC equipped 68K Amiga machines. Building on the existing AmigaOS 4.1 Final Edition platform, Update 1 is the culmination of many man-months of work by our dedicated team of AmigaOS developers, translators and beta testers. It delivers a selection of new features and a host of bug fixes and best of all, it is available as a free digital download, from the restricted download area of the Hyperion Entertainment website and via AmiUpdate, for all registered AmigaOS 4.1 Final Edition customers. Details about all changes can be found in the included AmigaGuide changelog document.

AmigaOS 4.1 Final Edition Update 1 Prerequisites:

Operating System: installed AmigaOS 4.1 Final Edition**

Hardware Compatibility: AmigaOne XE & SE, AmigaOne 500, AmigaOne X1000, Sam440, Sam460, Pegasos 2, Amiga Classic PPC. The AmigaOne X5000 line of computers is already equipped with Update 1 and does therefore not need this update.

Price: Free to registered users of AmigaOS 4.1 Final Edition

**AmigaOS 4.1 Final Edition can be purchased as CD boxed set from participating Amiga retailers

 Re: Announcing AmigaOS 4.1 Final Edition, Update 1
Thanks you to all who contributed to this. It was a nice painless update on my XE. I ran it quickly before I left for a New Year's Eve worship service. Everything ran correctly and rebooted correctly. I ran Fixfonts as instructed, but haven't had much chance to use it yet except to run a pass with Simplemail and Odyssey. All is good so far.

 Re: Announcing AmigaOS 4.1 Final Edition, Update 1
After the update on my SAM460, the system freezes during the boot-up.
If I boot without the startup (holding down the SHIFT key), it seems to complete the boot, but then freezes after a second.

Any suggestions?

@PEB

Udpate1 installed without problems?

Try to go into Early Boot Menu (holding both mouse buttons on bootimage) and then load without S-S. And type LoadWB and see what happens.

Just try to rename S:User-Startup and see if system still hangs or loads fine. If it doesn't freeze then, can you post your S:User-Startup?

And the list of programs that your WBStartup loads too.

@PEB

Had the same problem (SAM460) and it turned out to be the program "usbrecycle" being started from my user-startup that causes the freeze.
Try booting without startup-sequence or liveboot from the FE-CD to be able to check and remove c:usbrecycle from your user-startup.

@Libz

Thanks so much for the reply!
Commenting out USBRecycle fixed the problem!
