Amiga Events : Amigans.net moving to a new server
Posted by orgin on 2014/9/5 17:37:00 (1360 reads) News by the same author

walkero has decided that it's time to move amigans.net over to a new server.

We'll be starting this process around 12:00 CET on saturday (6th of September)

During this process I will be redirecting the DNS so until the new entries settles you might end up on the old site for a while.

The old website will be locked during the transition.

Once the new site is up I will post the new server IP in case you want to update your hosts file while waiting for the DNS entries to update.

Re: Amigans.net moving to a new server
I've noticed a couple of little things.

First, I wanted to post this as a reply to the forum thread where walkero posted that the site is up, but it doesn't look like I can post in that thread, even when logged in?

Second, I noticed that "Yesterday" has somehow been transmogrified into "Ystrday" - someone having keyboard trouble?

Oh, and when I first tried logging in, I just hit Return after entering my password, and it just cleared the fields. Next attempt I clicked the Login button, and then it worked. Not sure if this is a new problem.

Best regards,

Niels

The missing Es in Yesterday is a bit weird, I'm getting that here too so it's not just you! AFAIK this was only a server move, not an upgrade, so I don't see how that has happened.

I did a few fixes and I believe that now you won't have any problems. Please, if you find anything report back.

Thank you all for your help.

Re: Amigans.net moving to a new server
Looks good.

But I still don't get to reply (there's no reply button) in the thread "Amigans.net moving to a new server" in the Amigans Information forum, only here. Is that intentional? Is the other thread just for semi-gods like Chris and Rigo? And walkero's post asking us to "Please inform us here in case of errors-problems" is just rubbing our mediocrity in our faces?

Best regards,

Niels
