Software News : The new CygnusED webpage is online

The CygnusED Webpage is online via a new URL - http://www.cygnused.de

CygnusED is currently produced by Olaf Barthel and is one of the most popular text editors for the Amiga.

Albeit slowly, the development of the program is still continuing.

We'd like to get your opinion & thoughts as to what features you'd wish for future versions of CygnusEd.

Please let us know your ideas by writing to us in the support forum of CygnusEd's new webpages so that we can consider supporting them for the program's future releases.

Incidentally, a few days ago the FULL VERSION of the TCP/IP stack ROADSHOW was published which is also developed by Olaf Barthel.

 Re: The new CygnusED webpage is online
As CygnusEd is still my favourite text editor (and gets heavily used for coding), I'll definitely let you know what I'd like to see in future versions

I can't live without CygnusEd's virtually unique feature of being able to have several views of the same file (although I can think of some work-arounds that might be acceptable to me - none of which anyone else has implemented either).

CygnusEd is also unique in that it can open, edit & save binary files without corruption or crashes. Not that I use this feature much, but it does sometimes save having to pull out a hex editor.

Ah, read to fast. I have to register for a forum . Got too many registered sites already, and not keen on doing another one for something which I'll most likely only use once or twice.

Please provide an email address for posting feedback instead.

 Re: The new CygnusED webpage is online
I've got a question regarding CygnusED and AmigaOS4.1. I've recently bought CygnusED from APC&TCP for my programming job (mainly on Amiga 1200) and I can't get the program to run under AmigaOS 4.1 on Sam440ep. What am I doing wrong?

@RNS-AMiGA-Club
It should work fine, especially if you are using the latest version (v5.60).

It's not really possible to help someone who just says "program not working". We need to know HOW it's not working, and at exactly what point. But if all else fails, Snoopy may give some hints as to why CEd is failing.

@ChrisH

I'm very sorry, I was running the M68k executable and that was the reason! Just noticed the AmigaOS-PPC directory on CED v5.60 CD-ROM and it's running on AmigaOS4.1 without problems now!
