Software News : iBatch 1.0 - Batchprocessing for images

Software News

iBatch 1.0 (Image Batcher) allows users to easily convert/rename/renumber/resize/rotate a bunch of pictures at once. The pictures to be processed can be collected in a "Batchlist". In order to organize your batchlist ibatch provides a "Viewer" and "Batchlistbrowser" tool.

A fast workflow is guaranteed even on slow systems. This is accomplished by using preprocessed thumbnails/preview images
for the "Viewer" or "Batchlistbrowser" tool. All thumbnails will be kept in sync with their corresponding source directory. Before you start the "Viewer" tool, iBatch will therefore check for existent thumbnails and add missing thumbnails from the given sourcedir.

The whole program can be perfectly used for organizing/resizing digicam pics. Furthermore it becomes handy, when you have to convert whole image directories at once.

Old ARexx Version (iBatch4b_ger.lha, iBatch4b_eng.lha, iBatch_eng.lha ord iBatch_ger.lha) becomes obsolete. iBatch 1.0 was rewritten from scratch, here are the main advantages/changes:

- integrated thumbnailviewer + batchlistbrowser (no external thumbnailviewer needed anymore)
- redesigned GUI, very fast and easy to use
- integreted GUI for preferences
- it is not an ARexx Script anymore
- c:ImageConverter is not required anymore
- it is not an AWNPipe base GUI anymore. A Stormwizard Gui was chosen instead.
- considered to be more "robust"
- progress bar
- same executable runs on OS 3 upto OS 4.x
- support for locale.library
- Preferences File
- runs on small screen resolutions as well

Requirements
24Bit picdatatypes, zlib.library, jpeg.library, wizard.library, lots of RAM (at least for digicam pics) and OS3.x. or OS4.x
Runs perfectly on my SAM440. Lots of RAM recommended.

All details, screenshots, download.... on www.geobiz.de/ibatch.html iBatch will also appear on Aminet soon...

Just downloaded. Will try out later. Thanks

EDIT:
Did a fast test converting 3 dirs with pictures to smaller resolution and iBatch did the job :) The gui looks little oldish.

@Daniel
we never had that one before... during betatesting phase. So please give some details, because mathffp.library should be existent by default...
So, what system are you on ? Maybe there is such a lib, just the wrong version ? Is this the only missing lib reported ? What RTG System do you use ?

@Kicko
If the "oldish" looking GUI is the only problem of iBatch... WOW, I did a good job !!
But, I give you that, it is a bit oldish, because it was done with stormwizard, I tried to "pimp" it up, by using OS4 style requesters and using a special version of wizard.library (included in Wizarg GUI Builder Package) find links on iBatch Webpage (section) Section "Download" or "Requirements".

@Kicko
well, if you use the wizard.library included in GUI Builder package, you will have more of a AOS4 look (see Screenshots on iBatch Homepage). There is no noticeable speed difference between OS4 wizard.library and the 68k included in GUI Builder package (at least on my 677 SAM...).

@gerograph

Message reads...

missing libs:
mathffp.library >40.1

Don't have this library in LIBS: currently and not come across it before. Is only missing lib report.

OS4.1 (update 2) on SamFlex 733MHz, Radeon 9250 (Picasso96?).

 Re: iBatch 1.0 - Batchprocessing for images
Donnot know what went wrong, but mathffp.library can be found (at least) on OS4.1 beta for SAM CD. I have a SAM440 (non Flex) and I can find it on the OS4.1 CD which was delivered whith the SAM. I cannot find my OS4.1 upd 2 CD at the moment, but should be on there as well....
