i tried the game, no problem here, runs smooth, just a question.. In the first tutorial, the instructor told me to press the "\" key to get full speed.. but here nothing happens.. i have to change my keyboard layout from amiga os prefs??.. now using italian ISO-8859-15

it's funny to see that pressing the "STAMP" key makes grab of the current game

that's strange since SDL should take the current keyboard layout without any problem (otherwise any game wont work correctly..)

I don't know if downloading that game you will have three iso to burn.. if yes, it will work

very nice but i only have a classic PPC amiga so can`t play unless there`s a upgrade.

i do have the three CD version but it`s the *special edition* version where only 2000 copys were made it has extra missions.

Looks like a game worth playing, done a quick search on ebay and not single copy unfortunately, will have to keep a look out.

Getting the CD pack might be hard, but you can buy a downloadable version fro http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/freespace_2. Like I said above, installation from the downloaded version is a bit of a pain, but it is the full game, and it does work.

Hmmm, I also got the issue with the \ character... It appears Freespace 2 simply doesn't recognise it - nothing will bind to it so I had to bind full throttle elsewhere... No biggie I guess. Also, the voices don't work for me. I happened to quite like them from the first Freespace :(

How do you choose which mod or to play the original game? Is a startup manager to select things in order as well?

As we have the .exe for os4 to launch the game, why bother with the native installer? I tryed it last night and it took hours. Here is the magic quick and dirty solution: Use windows to install the complete game then burn the extracted directory should be C:\games\freespace2 (thats the defult install) and burn it straight to disc. Now, once you have done that boot into os4, find your freespace2 os4.exe and copy all files from your burnt disc into there should take only 20minuits, then voila. Launch the os4 .exe and you will be playing freespace2 in no time.

I can confirm that this seems to be a good solution that works well and fast if you got issues installing it on the amiga side.

I bought it from the GOG site and downloaded. After installing it on Windows, I moved it to my SAM and it works. I have no problem using the Full Throttle backslash key, although strangely I can't type it here.

On my SAM 533mhz its very slow. After a while it freezes

My \ key is also not recognised. How do you bind the key to another?

i installed the new OpenAL library and the sound is ok now, thanks Andrea , unfortunatly there is always the problem with the "\" key..

finally got a hold of the 3CD PC version but need to get a hold of the manual..anyone know where I can get one?
