can't login to ZitaFTP server webpage?-SOLVED

when I try to edit configuration from the Zita FTP dockie (using Odyssey) I get "OWB Error 60:SSL peer certificate or SSH remote key was not OK"

I then updated AmiSSL then rebooted system and same error.

I also tried using IBrowse and I got into the login page but after putting in my username and password I get "500 Internal Server Error..Try again in a few minutes or contcat the system administrator"?

Thing is I can log in fine with my other systems but I want to add another system and I tried to manually add it the text config file but that's not working...I believe I have to add the IP address of the computer trying to log in but I forget now

OWB doesn't use AmiSSL but was linked with libssl, with the shared libssl-0.9.8.so in old versions (OWB Blastoise and older), or statically linked in the newer versions.

The certificate file used, DEVS:curl-ca-bundle.crt, is of course outdated and probably none of the certs in it are sill valid, but it can be updated for example from https://curl.se/docs/caextract.html (rename the downloaded cacert.pem to curl-ca-bundle.crt and copy it to DEVS:).

If ZitaFTP requires SSL/TLS protocol versions which weren't available in OpenSSL 0.9.8 yet OWB would have to be rebuild using a newer version of the OpenSSL library.

but same issue. Hans mentioned that enabling 'ignore SSL errors' in Odyssey whe using ZitaFTP is necessary but this option was already set.

so I've got 2 systmes connected and working fine as I type but for some reason I can't get my 1200 to connect to ZitaFTP and it has exact same settings as other 2 systems? btw, the 1200 is working fine with Roadhsow and iBrowse so it's not an internet setup issue

Are you trying to use OWB or Odyssey?
I don't know anything about Odyssey, for OWB using "SetEnv SAVE SSL_NO_VERIFY 1" may work.

Are you attempting to log in on the machine running the server? If so, just double-click on the ZitaFTP Server dock icon. I tried it, and it works just fine.

Or, use http: instead of https:. There's no point in SSL encrypting a localhost connection...

I have no idea why Odyssey would have trouble with the certificate. Error 35 is from libCURL. Perhaps OpenSSL is now too old, or maybe it's libCURL that needs an update. A bit embarrassing if Odyssey can't handle what was recommended SSL protocol settings years ago (e.g., min TLS 1.2, with ciphers restricted to ones that don't have known flaws).

Could you capture a log of this, and send it to me via email? Increase ZitaFTP's logging level to the max if needed.

OWB development was stopped by Pleyo in 2009 already, anything newer wont work in OWB, incl. my AmigaOS 3.x/m68k and 4.x/PPC ports and and the AROS/x86 one, and probably not in forks of it like Odyssey either.

No problems here with ZitaFTP, the website via Odyssey works as always. My system AmigaOs4.1 currently includes the latest version of AmiSSL 5.13.

You are using http://localhost/about (no encryption), the problem @328gts has is SSL/TLS related, i.e. he is trying to use something like https://localhost/about instead.

Ok don't quite understand why, but yes I get the same error.

Yes, and I literally told @328gts to stop using https for localhost because Odyssey clearly can't handle the SSL certificate.

I see no reason why Odyssey couldn't use an updated libCURL & OpenSSL. Whether anyone is going to make it happen is another matter...

Yes I'm attempting to login on my X1000 which is running ZitaFTP.

I'm using http only with Odyssey but for some reason I'm getting the OWB error prompt (Error 60) noted above?

I sent off a log to your email.

Thanks for looking into this

If you're getting SSL errors, then it's trying to use SSL for some reason (i.e. https instead of http).

Did you disable HTTP in ZitaFTP Server by any chance?

I'll respond to your email after I've had a chance to look at it.

with help from Hans I manged to get into the server webpage on my system using the latest iBrowse by creating a text file named page-nav.mustache and putting in the ZitaFTPServer/Data/templates/partials folder

still can't login with Odyssey but at least I can get in with iBrowse for now anyway
