I want to reuse my Brother M1509 matrix printer on my SAL

Do i need a Centronix DB25F to USB 1.1 or to USB2.0 adapter?

Here below the latter is cheaper, any reason to prefer the 1.1 ?

You can get Printer server, they are not expensive, bit tricky to configure.

As long as your printer support PostScript you should be fine.
There is at least 3 packages if not more on Aminet to support network printing:

Lpr-dev.lha, lpr1p0b.lha, netparlpr.lha.

Thanks for the info. As far as i can see it is a simple dot matrix printer .no PS.

I discovered however that the printer has a 25 pin serial connector too and, i was lucky enough to find an old modem cable with a 25 to 9 pin RS232 adapter. Alas i can't plug it into the SAM's serial port because the monitor connector next to it takes too much place. A simple 9 pin RS232 cable will solve that.

ZeroG:

Depends... there are non-DOT4 adapters and there is a preliminary DOT4 driver reported to work in certain circumstances.

JosDuchIt:

Best bet would be to try one of the old and cheap USB->IEEE 1284 adapters. You will recognize them, as most of them are USB1.1 only and really cheap (about 5 EUR).
