Menu access in Sylpheed?

Is there a way to access the menus in Sylpheed?

With most programs, if the menu bar has underlined letters, typing the letter while pressing Alt will open the menu, but that doesn't work with Sylpheed on my machine.

Do I need to set something? Perhaps key bindings to something other than default?

This shouldn't work in all AmiCygnix apps. I think the problem is, that the X server doesn't support Alt and AltGr key combinations. The Alt and AltGr key event is handled, but no events, where these keys are pressed together with another key. This is not really a bug of the server, it is simply not implemented. I'm working on it.
