Prometheus DMA for OS4
Quite a regular

Hi again,

As I'm writing DMA-requiring drivers for OS4 (the TV card) I was wondering: does anyone know the status of the DMA firmware update for the Prometheus? As I understand it the currently released firmware is somewhat lacking for DMA and TV cards rely on it!

Thanks!

Quite possibly. But that was 2 years ago, and I don't want to pester anyone particularly. I was just thinking because the Prometheus is the PCI card I believe Hyperion are using there must be some progress surely...? If I'm going to get TV cards working under AOS 4.0 I need a fully DMA capable Prometheus....

Thanks for the help though! Maybe I'll drop him a line anyway and see.

According to the last information sent to the Prometheus mailing list many many months ago, there was new DMA supporting firmware that was still being tested. There was a breif discussion about how the update would be distributed when it was ready because a prom burning type tool would be needed to reflash the firmware. I've not seen any other updates since then.
