X500 Plus - Instructions -
Not too shy to talk
Not too shy to talk

As the first group of people are starting to receive their X500 Plus cases I thought of recording a video which explains how things work.

X500 Plus Instructions

Consider it as a sort of manual in video format hence its length.
I recommend watching it until the end. It helps knowing how your X500 Plus works and the ideas behind it.

Thank you.

Great, tremendously good job! One more question:

When using SAM440 mini, do I need fans?

It depends, I'd say maybe just one or two exhaust ones?
Maybe rear and side?
I was running mine without but I had an SSD (no HDD).
You can easily take them off if you want.
Thank you.

Hello TheDaddy,
I'm looking for a very mini and transportable AmigaNG

Is your case compatible with a SAM440ep-Flex with a PCI Radeon card ?

And if yes, are cases still orderables ?
How much costs it and how many times for build and delivery ?

Thank you.

Even if you reply no, your case looks very nice, well done.

Hi,

Both the X500 Plus and the Evo accept the SAM440 or 460.
The case has also a slot for a graphics card (low profile).

All the info is here:

All the different models on the right side.

Thank you for the words.

Quick update:

Assembling carries on as normal (whatever that means...), I'm getting speedier at this, moved from assembling one a day (when I can, free from work and life obstacles) to two, two and a half...

The next delivery is for the following people (it means the cases are assembled, all have a one photocopied A4 quick guide, a flexible PCI-Express 16x riser card, Amiga/language adhesives and an "X500 Plus Kickstarter 2013" key ring as a memento and are boxed ready to go):

Piercarlo - black X500 Plus - LEDs = Amber and Green
Enrico - black X500 Plus - LEDs = Amber and Green
Edward - black X500 Plus - LEDs = Blue and Blue
Peter - black X500 Plus - LEDs = Red and Blue
Darrin - black X500 Plus - LEDs = Red and Blue
Paul - black X500 Plus - LEDs = Red and Blue
Lars - black Plus - LEDs = Red and Green

Next week I should finally get the white aluminium panels and get assembling those too...

And this is it for now...thanks

PS: Paul, please get in contact, emailing you bounces back.

Soon I should be receiving the plastic, aluminium parts, fans, nuts, bolts, switches, LEDs etc... for the Evo and I need some space (and cash) so I've decided to put a couple of X500 Plus cases on ebay.

These are not prototypes but some of the very first in the batch of 25 we made so they are as complete as the others (instructions, slim Samsung DVD-RW with slim cable, internal USB card reader, silent fans, feet, 16X PCI-Express flexible riser card, key ring etc...) but they have been used...by me...

When I say used, I mean put together to take photos and videos, assembled systems inside for testing and fun, played with, taken to places etc...

If anyone is interested this is the link for the first one:

X500 Plus

It has Blue and Red LEDs. Please read the description. Postage for people outside the U.K. please contact me first.

A white one is on its way too.

These will also enter the competition running until April:

I've just finished the Boing Ball and MOS keys for the mechanical keyboards as requested by some of you. They are in full colour (with shading) and printed (not adhesives) at over 300dpi:

Resized Image

A big thank you goes to Hyperion for supporting this project and Johannes for general MOS advice.

A colour Boing Ball on light beige key is also available.
