It is based on Quake 1 engine

Yes it is very cpu intensive, indeed if i set all thing to max/on i got low performance even on my MacPro :-O

Anyway it doesn't use multithread opengl yet, so it could be like 4 time faster on MacPro. The first game ever which slow down my Mac looool

I just downloaded it for my Mac & gave it a whirl. It hasn't impressed me much to be brutally honest. It doesn't anything the Quake games don't do. The graphics don't exactly scream out quality to me & the sounds aside from being quake rips in places, are pretty shoddy quality.

Just a personal opinion.

It is too fast imho.... at least playing with bots. But on lan it is fun as other fast paced action fps.

The graphics is impressive (anyway it is not optmized, especially for Mac and it is slow). Quake 3 is better imho
