I just came across this
this link and I can see that it is possible to use MPlayer as an embedded Youtube player under Linux.
Would it be possible to do the same thing with AmigaOS 4.1 ?

@K-L It uses greasemonkey. Means the content the browser receives is rewritten on the fly: download links to the actual files are added to it(sort of embedded flayer/youtube-dl/and maybe tubex). Some plugin api should exist to allow such operation. Jack

@K-L You can use ClipDown to play/save Youtube videos (via Mplayer/Getvideo) with OWB.

@K-L It's also possible in OWB actually. WebKit indeed has userscript functionality, which does the same as greasemonkey, except a script manager UI has to be written (to load/remove scripts and so on). I just tested that script in OWB, and besides a minor modification to use HTML5 video first instead of x-mplayer plugin, it rewrites properly the youtube page.

@Fab so, does that mean you'll include it in the upcoming 1.8 version? ;)

@Vulture I'll probably implement a script manager (greasemonkey like), and then one can run whatever userscript he wants, yes.
