I got this error message during installation (roughly translated):

I got that error, too, installing a fresh SDK after renaming the old one. In System:SObjs I noticed there are now some back up files of a couple shared objects. I don't really know if they were there before the SDK install or not. I'm guessing, they were not.

Guessing is all we can do. The shared objects are yet another set of files that don't contain an Amiga version string. It's pretty hard to determine the version of a file that won't run by itself. I think every file in the OS should have a version string. How hard could it be to embed a $VER somewhere in the code. Apparently, we're now going to need to dearchive the entire SDK archive to check if we have the correct SOBJ files installed on our systems.

You can extract the complete SDK and compare the md5sums of all so's.

I have found this "new" so's in the SDK:
