Upcoming Release of PiStorm3D

PiStorm3D will be released on 24th September 2026.

Please note this release will be ONLY for people who donated to PiStorm3D.

A public release to everyone (upload to Aminet) will follow probably 2 weeks later ("probably" as if a major issue will still be fined, it might be postponed, but final release of first public version will definitely be in October 2026).

And of course we also will release the full source code.

There are some efforts to support minigl.library (the API the game ports use) to other hardware:

Classic static MiniGL version - We will have it ready for 8th October (please note I do not expect to have Quake 3 running at speed on a Voodoo 3 with 060 card)
OpenPCI Radeon 9200 - in works by an external dev
Vampire - they have the API and are interested in the projects, and I discussed it in detail with Gunnar. They do not currently have a developer to do the adaption though (if you know maggie.library, and feel you could help, please contact me)
Amiga 1200NG - they are informed and know that despite past "issues" I am willing to include them - but they did not reply to any tries of mine to contact them
THEA1200 - I asked them what their plans for 3DHW are and told them what mine are. Initially they sounded interested (Cloanto, from RGL no reply) but I guess they just are too busy with a lot of stuff, so I assume they will still contact me at a later time
Amigakit - I did not contact Jan yet, will do so today

Write "This is for PiStorm3D" in the comment. So I know these funds are not for me, but for Hedeon. If you want to give me a percentage just write in the comment how much (but remember the majority of the implementation was done by Hedeon - I only did the Shared Library Interface and some works on some games - majority of work even there by Hedeon).

People who send paypal funds will also get the "Beta" on 24th (personally I expect Beta of 24th and final on 8th October will be the same )

I personally try to get Serious Sam and Jedi Knight Outcast still working, but especially Serious Sam still fights me - seriously ^^

Note if you have some bucks to spare I also recommend to send some to Arczi. A lot of the PiStorm3D titles are his work (everything except Q1, Q2, Q3, H2 actually).

Which Raspberry Pi are supported? Will it work with my Rpi 3b+ or should I go to RPi 4?

It only works with pi4/cm4/4b but Claude Schwarz works on
an api compatible solution for pi3. He and me are in
close contact but pretty sure his Solution won’t be
Available till 8th October.

Note: gemrb 68k will work great on pi3 though. Around
30 fps. Bg2 still giving Performance issues though (but
BG1 is fine). Buyers of os4/wos version can get 68k
version free, including the beta.
