I re-powered on my Sam46ex after some years and I see the usual kernel ram issue is there, when you try to extract a big archive to ram usualy it crash, new port of Odyssey 3.1 has the same problem in certain situation of ram the system crash, the big question is possible after many years nobody resolved the situation ??
Sam 460EX, 2Gb Ram, Radeon R7 250, AmigaOS4.1 FE A4000 PPC604@233, Mediator A1200 PPC603@160, Mediator uA1 G3@800, 512 Mb [sold]
this is correct, fill memory over 1gb on sam460 and the system freeze. maybe acube brings his own kernel ??? very interesting press note for the Pianeta Amiga 2026.
The new ram-handler support memory objects, memory objects do not support DMA copying..
on X1000 and XE CopyMem might not be DMA optimized, but altivec optimized. (so no issues..) on X5000 maybe they have optimized for 64bit.. (So no issues)
I believe the Sam440 use DMA to speed up memory copy.. (I can remember wrong..) CopyMem does have way to know if memory is virtual or not.
As for Swap partition on AmiagOS4.x not sure it fix high memory barrier, does not map into lower 1Gb memory? If so its only useful on AmigaONE-SE and XE, where typical max memory is 512mb.

It’s a very serious, critical bug that we’ve been saddled with for years; were it not for the fact that we’re in the Amiga world, it would be a massive scandal. They really ought to release a mini-update or a new kernel immediately—if that’s what it takes to fix the situation. Those two "big brothers" have been a total joke all these years... not to mention the Firefox port (Timberwolf): they took the money and then just left the project unfinished... it’s absolutely unbelievable!
