Apologies joerg, I will replace with the OS4 Depot version.

For many years I've used the xeromouse driver with the A-Eon/Logitech mouse that came with my X1000 in order to get horizontal scrolling by tilting the scroll wheel. I don't use horizontal scrolling nearly as much as vertical, but it comes in handy sometimes.

Unfortunately, this driver no longer works correctly under Update 3. The basic mouse functions work fine -- movement and buttons, including the middle mouse button -- but the scroll wheel does nothing, and won't scroll vertically or horizontally (in developer terms, RAWMOUSE events work, but MOUSEWHEEL events do not).

The driver comes with source, so I may be able to add some debugging code to try and figure out where it's going wrong. Until then, I've had to remove the driver and go back to the OS4 HID driver. It only has vertical scrolling, but that's better than no scrolling at all.

A couple of weeks ago an update to "MouseDriver" was released.
It is based on xeromouse, maybe it is of help for you.
I don't know why the archive has not been uploaded to os4depot too.

Thanks! I saw the older version of that package on OS4Depot, but didn't think to check Aminet for a newer one.

Unfortunately, per the source code the only change in the new version was to add support for another mouse; the Logitech driver is still from 2019, and is essentially identical to the xeromouse driver. I tried it anyway, but wasn't surprised when it didn't work any better than the xeromouse version.

At least someone seems to still be maintaining the drivers, so if I'm able to figure out how to make it work, there's a path to a new version.

On hyperion download area hotfix is merged with upd2. So there is upd1, upd2, upd3 avail.

So I would pick upd2 and upd3 from hyperion site and drop hotfix.

Worth of try anyway. And perhaps better to refresh upd1 pkg allso.

Thanks for the info, I will revert to the backup of plain installation and will try to download all the updates again.

Same result, as I expected.


But, I found an hint.
After installing Update3, I replaced C, L and Libs from the backup, and connection worked again.

I suspect the issue is ssl or bsd socket library.
Tomorrow I will revert again to the backup before Upd3 installation and trace the files that will be updated in these folders.

Let's recap:

Internet connction works again after replacing these file from the backup before installing Update3,

This is the result of my investigation, perfomed manually as no logs are provided anywhere and snoopdos/snoopy do not give any useful information.

I would not like to have a system with this partial update so for now I will revert to Upadate2 again - at least I would consider to update the kernel only.

Hi MazinKaesar,

Try this: Go to the Preferences folder, open Internet, select your network interface, and then click Edit. Check if everything is OK, then click Use and Save.

A window will appear indicating that some network interfaces have changed.

Click Yes.

A shell window will open. It will stop your network and add a new network interface (the same one).

It will show you your IP address, subnet mask, etc.

Let's see what happens with this procedure.

I tried a lot of times to delete and create the connection again, no changes. Then only way I found to have the connection working again is to restore the file I listed from the backup.

But what message do you get in the shell when you confirm the interface change?

I just checked the files in the C drive; I don't know if this is related, but every entry in those files is in "shell" execution mode?

I'll continue investigating.

it simply said it is all ok, but later no browser can access to the Internet.

No, I use only browsers so far (to get stuff from OS4 Depot).
