Synology share to the wild
Hey,

does anyone know an easy way to share a drawer from a Synology to the wild (preferrably without having to register yet another account)?
Password or no password required, doesn't matter as the stuff will be on it's own hdd.

I want to share some game box scans, so nothing too fancy and my mail ISP's cloud is getting full.

Thanks in advance

Answering to myself...it won't work without a Synology account.

That and using a QuickConnect link works (even with attached usb hdds/sticks, so one can save their precious main/home NAS).

I am not sure what you mean with "wild" but you can create a webserser, ftp server or use quickconnect to share a specific folder to access files or folder to outside your network.

Been a while but I've never created a synology account for that.

@geennaam

I meant sharing with the world, so that anyone can access the files.

But there were two conditions to be met
a) Not a subdirectory on the main NAS drive (read: using a plugged in usb hdd instead)
b) not having to create yet another account

a) was successful, b) not.

I wasn't able to create a QuickConnect link that wouldn't include my home's address space, *WITH* a Synology account however i get a .me link which everyone can access.
