Would a compatible/adapted version of distcc be able to use the second core of the X1000?

Building projects would be that much faster...

There is nothing to be done for distcc as it already supports multiple CPUs and cores. It is AmigaOS that you are waiting on.

So distcc can/could already use the second core *if/when* AmigaOS4 is able to access/offer it?

Sounds logical, how else would a program running on AmigaOS4 access hardware which isn't seen by the system itself...
