How do you type extended characters in OS 4.1?

I needed an uppercase eth ( ? ) in a document I was working on, and I wound up using copy and paste to get it off a web page because I couldn't figure out how to enter one.

Eth is alt-D. Not at my Sam right now to type it, but I use eth, thorn, and ash quite a lot for a native English speaker.

On Amiga, unlike PC, most extended character are available using Alt+{a similar letter}. Also Shift+Alt for uppercase versions or other alternatives.

This is the alphabet wil Alt pressed down:

You can also use KeyShow to find/type obscure characters.
