I know what the Xena will excel in doing: Decode IR signals from remote controls, and to drive LCD displays with status info (like the currently playing song in AmigaAMP) when the monitor is switched off

That sounds like it would be doable using a single core of Xena and
a minimal amount of circuitry.

When not using it for that purpose it may be programmable to monitor
other computer functions. CPU speed, network speed, RAM usage, etc..
