Just can't stay away

Tested Augustus on X1000 and RX550. Thank you for porting it.
Runs stable. Feels slower than I expected - scrolling and recognising menu selections.
Still perfectly playable though.

One issue that occurs each run, I notice the cursor needs to be well below the menu icon to actually activate on click? Seems like it is off target. Anyone else see this?

I was surprised to see a lower GFXBench2D score with the RX550 vs R9 270X.

Powerprefs set to high.
Monitors Tooltype set to INTERRUPT=NO

The RX550 seems funtionally faster in every game that I have run it in.

If we wanted to boot from a different partition whilst using this RX card hack on X1000, how feasible would it be to use Thomas Rapps ChangeBootPri? https://thomas-rapp.homepage.t-online.de/download.html

Could AOS4 be forced to run ChangeBootPri early in the SS? That way allowing an early change of ide0.0 and a reboot to different partition?

The discussion is about the separate packages that do not make sense and the confusion there is in the community. Adding to that the lack of the necessary information from A-Eon and AmigaKit, makes things worse.

I wrote about that before in my posts and I guess you have seen that in other people's comments.

Yes, fair comment. There will always be disagreement about how things are packaged up.

@Walkero, unfair to use the term crocodile.

Grumbles about the way software is packaged aside, Amigakit/AEon continue to work with the community devs to produce remarkable products.
The elephant that is Hyperion are absentee landlords.

We all expect an income from our day jobs. Why do we expect Amigakit/AEon to be anything different?

Yes that is correct.
Worth also noting that the RadeonRX.chip and RadeonHD.chip 3.7 driver is INCLUDED as part of ESP2.2 This is because ESP needs those drivers for components in ESP to function.

RadeonHD.chip 5.xx was an additional development cost incurred by AEON in an attempt to broaden Video Acceleration/GART support for their non X5000 class HW.

RadeonHD.chip is a game changer for 720p playback in SAM and X1000.
Hacking an RX card into an X1000 is an option, but the loss of CFE and easy switching of boot drive/media is a major pain.
I would encourage any purchaser of ESP2.x who uses an SI GPU to get the RadeonHD.Chip v5 driver.

X1000 does support RX cards with the GPIOV10 jumper / CFE menu hack.
RX VA works all the way up to 4k playback with the Enhancer Pack from AEON.

RadeonHD.chip >v5, VA also works with Southern Island based cards however the GPU seems to struggle with decoding videos above 720p on AmigaOS4.x and ESP2.2.

Congrats to Hans for his super work and thanks to AEON & devs for their continued efforts, you keep this NG Amiga buzz alive

Spencer, MaceTD, Doom3, Reborn to Castle Wolfenstein, Heretic II, all good so far.
Couple of WB locks ups, not reproducible. Not sure yet if coincidental or linked to RX.

Just installed a Sapphire Pulse RX550 2GB.
Applied Goos hack.

Tested your Aquaman videos:

X1000
RX550 (Polaris 12 card)
ESP 2.2
Emotion 1,9 - Frameskip disabled.
GPU Hardware decoding VAAPI.

720p - Smooth sound and in sync audio (6% CPU)
1080p - Smooth sound and in sync audio (5% CPU)
2k - Smooth sound and in sync audio (6% CPU)
4k - Smooth sound and in sync audio (6% CPU)

WOW!!!

*haven’t tested anything else yet.
