Which astools repo are you using.

We generally use https://github.com/sba1/adtools.

Unless you are trying to make a native distribution (for distribution of the native ppc compiler and tools for others) there is no need for it to be specifically /usr/local/amigaos. For that, actually it goes into /gcc with that folder have non root permissions.

Tldr: use that link. Run gild to get binutils, and gcc. You can specify your output directory by setting your CROSS_PREFIX environment variable.

It's pretty much all in the git hub main page.

If you want to checkout and build the coreutils, then checkout version 5, not 8.

I still do not use AppDir, in the sense that I comment out the adding of it to the path in the ss file. In fact, every boot I delete the contents of it. Futile, of course because the OS will continue to create links there every session.

Some 3rd party scripts rely on it.

There is no way to actually stop the OS from creating links in APPDIR:, right?

BTW, I can see the benefits of it. It means that I don't need to hack 3rd party scripts and provide the path to my own installations etc. Regardless, still wondering if you can disable the creation of links in full.

I think I read in one of the PDFs that it is not a good idea on the Amiga to link to so and static at the same time. When we use the --dyn option, then everything has to SO, right?

There are a lot of people who are developing that do not use SO.

Well, it is not really solved. The important thing is that when I save a file the time is correct now on the Amiga. Before, it was an hour behind.

I notice that when I start cygnix in fullscreen (which I rarely do, because I just normally use stand-alone), it believes that it is 5 hours a head of Europe/London time.

Not sure why.

Since my main issue is solved, I am not too bothered. But it is interesting why it believes 5 hours ahead.

I cannot seem to see ffplay on OS4Depot. I see it only for 68k on Aminet, but I would never have expected that one to work with Petunia.

This is not to do with MediaVault. But I notice that when I try to play something in AAC format then AmigaAMP will say "Unsupported Stream".

I tried to see if AmigaAMP was trying to open the faad library, but I could not see evidence of that. I prefer not to install things if I do not need them.

Do you know how to play the AAC formats?

I also use munge. But that was always the case even when my system first shipped.

I think there was something in enhancer core that isn't in enhancer 2.

Can someone check?

This is kind of a big deal.

I expected to see messages about it unpacking the pk4 files.

The two things I did within the folder "Dhewm-OS4"

- Copy your beta provided EXE file to that folder.
- Copy your pk4 files to the folder "base/base".

There should be 9 of those pk4 files. These are already there (in your STEAM download of Doom3 [AppId 9050]) if you get Doom3 from STEAM.

You could also try to ensure that the md5sums match up.

Hi. As part of the requirements for Doom3, Hunno's EGL Wrapper library is needed.

I took the liberty of also installing the SDK portion so that I can look into the examples.

All seem to run fine part from the SDL2-GL4ES example (which is the one I am particularly interested in learning from).

There is one example in there and it is the GL-Cube.

I renamed the already built binary and ran make again to compile on my machine. Compilation and linking is okay, but at run time:

This also happens when directly invoking the original binary.

When I rclick on something and copy it and then rclick on some empty space and click paste - nothing happens.
