@Amigamancer Have you emailed the authors, or used the web site, to tell them what features you want? Last time I spoke to one of them, they wanted suggestions, since they felt it did everything they thought was needed.

@TiredOfLife Just thought I should mention that the latest version of mplayer you pointed me to seems to work much better @afxgroup I hope that you don't have to work so hard soon, maybe recover over the Xmas break, and can find some time to work on DvPlayer...

@magic Perhaps because they are currently unable to fulfill existing orders (and don't know when all existing will be fulfilled), so they temporarily stop offering it for sale? Seems fair if they don't want too many unhappy customers, especially over the Xmas period...

@Mrodfr I personally would not expect any Payback bugs on OS4.1/Sam440 to be fixed, but I'd be great if he could just recompile the PPC version with system friendly audio. We can work-around the other bugs. edit: I started a new thread on this topic, asking for posts to be made here, but some people have replied there instead: Interest for Payback on OS4?

@Mrodfr AmiDevCpp is worth a look, since it supports compiling for OS4 on Windows, and installs very easily. OTOH, I'm not sure that it supports WarpOS (although maybe that could be fixed).

@Mrodfr Are you sure he's working on an Iphone version of Payback?!? Big news if true, as not read this anywhere else.
BTW, I did ask him recently whether he could recompile the PPC version with the system-friendly audio enabled (which he had added back in the last 68k version), perhaps unsurprisingly without any reply so far. But maybe the more people that let him know their interest in PPC version with working audio, the more likely he might consider it...?

@JeffShepherd They HAVE moved on to mediation now, and that is actually even mentioned in one place. But AI seems to be trying to dodge supplying information to Hyperion that would aid them in deciding whether to give in or not (FWIW, Hyperion has apparently already supplied all the info that AI requested).

@Hans DMA was not enabled (by default) on my Sam440, and other people report the same, so probably it is the same with all Sam440s (but can't speak about the "second batch").

@angelheart If you are only doing the install once, then 25 mins is nothing. OTOH, if you are installing lots of machines, then you might wish to look at cloning the HD of the first machine - OS4 even comes with a suitable tool IIRC.

@AmiKit If you want a "fast and safe" filingsystem, then I would recommend SFS/02 (or SFS/00 if you are really paranoid), since it has a long development history & is therefore well proven. JXFS is an unknown quantity, by comparison.

@Atheist Do you really expect a 1.7GHz G4 motherboard that is cheaper than a Sam440?!? Or for that matter, a motherboard with same performance as Sam440, but significantly cheaper?

@samo79 I thought I read that OS4.1 (or was that 4.0?) had updated it's compiler toolchain, so that it could use all the latest C++ stuff like Boost (presumably without modification).

@Curty In the terms it says "Refer at least 13 unique people ("referrals") who properly sign up and complete 1 offer as specified by the terms of this agreement. "
Although I'm sure there are a lot more hoops & get-out clauses in the terms. I very much doubt you'll get a PS3, at least without your 13+ people spending 100s if not 1000s of pounds first.

@abalaban IIRC you had to sign an NDA to get the AA2 SDK. Dunno if that is still the case, but it seems the best way to keep AA2 'the world's best kept secret'...

@TiredOfLife I'm using MPlayer 1.0pre7.005, according to the version command, although the docs mention "pre8". The file size is 5,983,592 bytes.

@Phantom MPlayer works for me, but I do get mild video corruption (brief yellow strips) when playing any format.

@caver99 Dare I ask why you need *40GB* for the boot partition?!?! I felt that 1GB was over the top.
I hope you won't be installing programs on the boot partition, as that's very wrong - because if you need to reinstall OS4 (or upgrade from scratch) then you loose everything.

@afxgroup While I try to avoid "me too" posts, I am certainly looking forward to seeing a fix, even if it isn't entirely DvPlayer's fault (OS4.1 debug kernel).
