@Helgis I agree Helgis. I wonder if the next update will primarily be to fix any bugs. Then perhaps a 4.2 release that we pay for. But who knows, maybe all the efforts will be to get 4.1.1 onto the X1000.

Everything went fine for my SamFlex800.
Turbocalc: Version 3.5 works here, but I don't have version 4 to try. Do you get the same results if you display it on the Workbench screen instead of its own?
Screen modes: I used the monitor "auto detect", saved, rebooted, and it works great on all the modes.
Screen blankers: Work fine.
Network: The setup wizard did not give me a working connection, but after using the wizard, and then going into the Prefs:Internet, I re-save the settings and it works for DHCP. Also, if you are using a SAM, try changing the unit number between 0 and 1, in case it is referencing the wrong network port.
It is really fun using this update. Thanks Hyperion, it gets better each time and it's wonderful to have a supported AmigaOS again.

@kas1e I think it is sufficient to put your own name or coder handle as part of the filename, but the year is not necessary.

@328gts That's what I have in my SamFlex, and it works great with better audio quality than the on-board sound. The most recent driver may be on OS4 depot.

@Mikey_C
So you took the time to say it again, but it goes without saying, because it has been said so many times. It looks like a good logical progress so far. After hardware, then the OS, then the applications. As the OS continues to mature, it becomes a stronger foundation to invite software application developers. I agree that Hyperion is in up to their necks in OS development and unless someone wants to offer them a load of money to expand into applications again, then someone else needs to do it. So Mikey_C, thanks for volunteering and I look forward to your next software releases. Can you tell us a little more about them?

Lies!
Hyperion is a software company, not hardware. I'm sure they are still working on their OS4 port to a banana as some of us requested a long time ago. Although bananas have only a single core, they are very popular and affordable as any banana owner can tell you.
As you can see, part of the "X" logo is yellow for a ripe banana, and also black, for the extra-ripe banana which is sometimes referred to as "rotten". Yes, OS4 will still function on even a black banana.
Helgis, I'm proud of you for being suspended from Amigaworld. Some of us left of our own will but others need a forceful push away.

@Rigo Thanks Rigo. Take the time to get it done as best you can the first time. Otherwise a rushed release can cause you to try a second or third time afterwards to make amends with greater loss of time, money, quality, and respect.

@jbni If you mean the Network File System spawned from Sun Microsystems, then no, I don't think there is any released client software for the Amiga.
There was a former software client for AmiTCP called "ch_nfs", but I don't know if it was ever finished.
There was also a group who continued that project under the software name of "anfs" on sourceforge, but it is only in development stage.

@Antique At my job we had a SSD in a new Windows notebook computer earlier this year. But, it was so slow we replaced it with a normal spinning hard drive.

@BrandonLee You can use the command line to diagnose the problem. First, reproduce the DNS lookup by using ping: ping www.google.comping www.amigans.netping <whatever site> See how fast the first line after the ping displays the IP address. It should be immediate. If the IP address does not display immediately, then it is a DNS problem. You can also examine the ping responses. When you use "Ctrl+C" to break the ping, see if it reports more than 10% packet loss.

Hyperion may continue to only support hardware that actually exists and has active hardware support and developer information from the manufacturer. I support them 100% on that choice so far.
They have been approached before by plenty of people who didn't have any alpha or beta stage motherboard. The limited choices of motherboards has not been because Hyperion is not willing, but because most of the hardware products were just vaporware in the end.
Ideas are nice, but it is unwise or impossible to make promises or divert efforts with an operating system into something that most of the time will not be anything more than an idea.
It is also more resource efficient to limit the number of hardware partnerships, so it is possible that Hyperion will make exclusive hardware agreements for specific markets. For example, PDA, notebook, slim desktop, power desktop, server, etc.
If you create a motherboard that fits a market which has not been satisfied yet, and also provide active hardware support and developer information, I believe Hyperion would be happy to develop AmigaOS for it.

@K-L @redfox
Google works fine for me on all OWB versions including 3.19. I can generate search lists and go to the matches, then use the back button to return to the original list with no crashes or other problems.

Wow, you got good results with SRec by lowering the recording resolution. I watched both the Battle for Westnoth, and the Exult / CDXL videos. Thanks for posting.

@RuDeE I have the same setup as you do except I only have 512 MB of RAM instead of 1 GB. I wonder what is slowing you down? Maybe there are some startup programs running in the WBstartup folder, or in the user-startup file?

@RuDeE I am also using a Radeon 9250 card. My SAM workbench uses 1280x1024 resolution. I can run 3 copies of MilkyTracker, all playing MODs at the same time. Maybe you can respond to these questions: 1) Are you using MilkyTracker version 0.90.80_01 on OS4depot? 2) Do you have Composting enabled in your Workbench Prefs ->GUI->options? 3) How much system RAM do you have, 512 MB, or 1 GB? 4) Are you using onboard sound, or a sound card? 5) What AHI mode are you using.
