Really excited to see JAmiga moving forward. It's a massive project and one that will really push the Amiga to new places.

WebRTC support
Just popping in
Just popping in

Hi All,

There's a standard out in the world called WebRTC that is designed to allow users to communicate via browsers with Audio and Video. Currently Chrome, FireFox, and Opera have full support. The website is here: http://www.webrtc.org/reference/native-apis

My question is will the Amiga ever support this kind of thing?

Cheers,

Window rendering off

Hi All,

On my Amiga1XE running Amiga 4.1u6 I see some oddness with all my QT apps. The draw window is shifted up and to the left such that it covers the title bar and the mouse is a bit off the UI elements to select them. Is this a known issue? What am I doing wrong?

Thanks!

How about http://trac.qutecom.org/

I've downloaded and installed Qt and you have done a great job so far! It's definitely something that we will be showing and talking about at Amiwest in terms of progress for Amiga OS4.

Keep on coding!

Re: Anyone running AmiVNC4 2.2.0 from OS4Depot?

Here is a link to how it looks using RealVNC on my OS X system:

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/680455/RealVNC-A4k.png

I've been playing around with the source and looking at the logs. Looks like any client based on the RealVNC code (a lot of them) ignore the server color shifts and use this pattern in stead:

R=8
G=16
B=0

I have log traces at home with a connection from JollyVNC that worked and REALVNC that did not, can post them later.

Daniil, did you do the update for version 2.2.0?

Anyone running AmiVNC4 2.2.0 from OS4Depot?

Hi all,

Just checking to see if anyone else is using that code? I've found a strange color shift when I connect from most types of clients (Linux, PC, and Mac). Anyone else run in to that? The colors look all wrong.

The only client I've found to work is JollyVNC on OS X.

Thanks!
Bill

Amiwest 2011 is just around the corner!

Hi Amigans!

I tend to post on Amigaworld.net so many of you have seen my messages before. As the show approaches I'll do a better job of posting here as well.

First, I wanted to invite everyone to attend. The show is in Sacramento, California, USA on October 21, 22, and 23rd. The activities will include a "Classic Clinic", numerous seminars, Steven Solie speaking at the banquet, and some great exhibitors.

I'd also like to ask for volunteers to present during the show. The theme is "Every Day Amiga" for this year. In the years past the show has been focused more on the vendors and this year we really want to focus on the amiga users. To that end we are looking to have presentations on Amiga OS4 features and tools such as Amicyginx and how those things can be used to make your Amiga relevant to your every day computing. So if your planning to attend and would like to spend 20 or 40 minutes sharing with the Amiga Community about how you use your Amiga every day, please let me know!

I'm also curious to try something like Skype, the idea would be that someone, anywhere in the world, could present via Skype to the audience at the show. If this sounds interesting to you, also contact me.

For the latest information check out the Amiwest website. You can follow us on Twitter and find the SACC (Sacramento Amiga Computer Club) presidents Blog on the latest news on the site.

Thanks for reading this and I hope to see you at Amiwest 2011!

Take care,

Re: OS 4.1 rfs?

@caver99

I think you might be using JXFS? If so there are a few important things to keep in mind. First, the block size has to be set at 512. Second, Amiga OS 4.1 does not yet support booting from a JXFS filesystem.

I would recommend booting from the regular FFS (select long file name support) since it has the best salvage tools.

Good luck,
