Microsoft Wireless Desktop 800 (keyboard + mouse combo) works OK on Sam440ep and Sam460ex.

@Severin No, the Write Pixel Array result is for copying a buffer from RAM to VRAM using the DMA unit (on 440/460 CPU)

Quote: 16 0x1106 0x3249 VIA Technologies, Inc. VT6421 IDE RAID Controller FYI I'm currently working on support for the VT6421 PATA/SATA chipset. There is already a new U-Boot version in development for Sam440ep mini-itx, Sam440ep flex (and soon Sam460ex) which can boot from the PATA port, and a very rudimentary AOS4.1 driver (works in PIO mode atm) Don't ask for any release date since development work is done in my (very) rare spare-time...

@nbache
as AOS4 betatester, do you have access to the sam3114ide.device ? The sam3114ide.device (not to be confused with the sii3114ide.device) uses MMIO instead of IO and there are better chances it could work on a Sam460ex.

@djrikki Quote: I carried out both of those in fullscreen mode - and the graphic glitch is no longer present. I assume safe to add this to my startup-sequence now. Not yet We still need to find out what's exactly causing the problem.... could you please unset both env vars and use only this one instead? setenv Picasso96/DMABLFromVRAM 0

@sofistisoftware Quote: I tryed to create a drawer in envarc called Picasso96 with file DMABLToVRAM with 0 value in, but it doesn't cure the problem, if you launch the game in full screen 1920x1080 the problem doesn't appear, but if you try to launch the game in window mode or in full screen in some other resolution the problem occur, at the moment i don't know if the problem is in Picasso96 specific to sam460 or in the game
What happen if you set Picasso96/UseDMA to 0 ? BTW you just need to enter the following line in the Shell before running the game: setenv Picasso96/UseDMA 0 or setenv Picasso96/DMABLToVRAM 0 (no need to create a drawer in ENVARC: etc...)

If it works correctly after setting DMABLToVRAM to 0, try increasing the value by steps of 256, until it show the problem again, and report here your finding, thanks !

The agreement with Hans allow us to release the driver only to AmigaOne 500 / Sam460ex owners

Quote: If you really want to try a PCI gfx card on your Sam440ep, I suggest you to find a (rather rare) Radeon 9000, with 128-bit RAM bus. This is the fastest gfx card you may currently use on a Sam440ep (mini-itx or flex model) and it's as fast as the onboard M9 in 3D speed, while Radeon 9200 or 9250 are way slower.

66 is the right value for the PCI slot IRQ on a Sam440ep (INTA) The C2388x use edge or level triggered IRQ ?

Quote: On my Cx2388x boards, I get nothing. I think that this is because the C2388x board uses a PCI bridge, as it's a multi-function card. My understanding is that the interrupt for the CX2388x chip may be INTA# as normal, but by the time it's crossed the bridge, it could be any interrupt. Are you sure the board use a PCI bridge ? Could you provvide a Ranger screenshot showing the PCI devices tree on your Sam440ep ?

Please send me a detailed explanation of what happened, what's the current problem, and if needed, photos of the damaged area, at the following address: mtretene at acube-systems dot com
I'll take a look at it when back in office.

Do you have U-Boot 1.3.1d ? In case, can you try reverting back to the 1.3.1c version ? Have you installed Sam440ep_setup from OS4Depot ?

move and rename DEVS:sam460sata.device to Kickstart/sam460sata.device.kmod

I cannot replicate the problem using AOS4.1 beta (upd2 + daily updates) OWB (3.32) correctly close the screen when the last Ringhio notification fades away, so the bug seems to be fixed.

@ChrisH I noticed this in your comment: Quote: OLD SPR[0x03b2]: 0x002d0000 SPR[0x03b2] already set... skipping
There was a bug in my code, this means on your machine the first patch wasn't applied, you may still suffer for low L1 cache write speed. Please try again with the new 1.1 version I just uploaded on OS4depot: http://os4depot.net/?function=showfil ... /shell/sam440ep_setup.lha

@ChrisH
Crisot is right, the patch improves only read performance, which has near zero impact on 3D games. You may noticed some improvments in some SDL games, emulators and amicygnix.
Anyway later today or tomorrow we'll publish a PCI update utility on ACube website which will improve write performance up to 30% (around 64 MB/s on the M9 chip) and with this you'll notice some improvment on 3D too, but don't expect miracles, max 1 or 2 FPS.
For overall better 3D performance, improved 3D drivers are needed.
