New forum for emulating AmigaOS4
Supreme Council
Supreme Council

I've created a new forum for emulation of AmigaOS4 to keep it separate from classic emulation.

This thread has now been locked due to its size and because it keeps veering outside the original topic.

Please create new threads that are focused on the topics you want to discuss.

Moved this to emulation. Perhaps you'll get a bit more visibility.

@AmigaOldskooler

I see, Amiberry, alright then. Thank you.

Would be a nice platform to run a native arm os4 on. To get away from the ridiculously expensive ppc hardware that we are stuck with now. Oh well.

@ferrels

I'm asking for an explanation on what it does. Not what it physically is (which is explained on the page).

As in, is it just an arm board running linux with uae or does it achieve the amiga emulation in some other way.

Could someone explain what exactly this is. As in, is it just arm linux running some uae variant or is it something completely different?

Re: Replace file with different suffix

The problem was that ".xz" wasn't in the list of allowed file types. I've added ".xz" to the list and added a temporary error message.

I'll look into making the error messages on the submit page a bit more visible.

POLL: ScummVM - gl4es only or double solution?
Supreme Council
Supreme Council

Posted on request by Raziel

Since gl4es is so much faster and evidently makes some games playable in the first place, i'd rather drop vanilla SDL2 (OpenGL) builds.

Though it would be possible to provide both binaries (or even two complete archives), it would come with more work, more time (second and third option) and most probably with a tedious script, which will switch between the two binaries, due to either binary using it's own libSDL2.so (second option).

The OpenGL build won't go away (for now), as there are still the daily builds from ScummVM buildbot, but they'd miss real "releases" from then on in and might be dropped completely in the future (but i doubt it, given the "unofficial" gl4es patches to SDL2 and the awkward SDK install.

Hmm that guide hasn't been updated for ages and the polls module probably isn't the same.

Tell me the following details and I'll try to create the poll for ya:

If users here only want OS4 news it must be respected.

I emplore everyone who has not yet done so to read the full contents of the Statement of Intent

There are still misconceptions being expressed in this thread. Just read the document and do not read too much into other peoples opinions on the matter.

I'm sure there are some who only wants OS4 news, but the Statement of Intent is what governs the focus of the site on this matter and there are no plans to change it.
