Sony Mini DV Tape Handycam

Hi
Not sure if anybody can help me out here.
I have a sony dv handycam video recoder with dv tapes. Which I have a DV to USB cable. when I plug the cable in all I get is:- Hub driver was unable to attached the device. I`m I right so this will not work on a Amiga 4.1 OS , or is possible????
