Has anyone experienced 1024x768 resolution being outputted as 1280x768 from their Blizzard Vision PPC card in OS4 classic? The monitor is telling me (using its inbuilt menu) that the display mode is 1280x768 when in fact I selected 1024x768 from the 'ScreenModes' icon under 'Prefs'
Is there a way around this? I'd really like to use 1024x768. I've tried all three options and they all do the same. Oddly, 800x600 resolutions actually output 800x600 like they are suppose to.
I have the same problem with my A1. 1024x768 is stretched horizontaly into 16:10 mode although the monitor is set up to keep the aspect ratio. 640x480, 800x600 and 1280x1024 all work ok, only 1024x768 has the problem. And real 16:10 modes work ok, too, of course. Only 1024x768 displays stretched.
I had this pb with Update3 IIRC, when setting 1920x1200 outputed really 1600x1200 on the screen. A pb in the driver, corrected in update4, I suppose ?

I hope its fixed in the next update - does anyone know of a work around in the meantime? Is there any config files I can manually edit? 800x600 is a tad too small for web browsing :(
Why don't you use 1280x768 then ? Obviously it is a 16:10 monitor, otherwise it would not know this mode. Add it to your driver's list of supported modes, then use it for Workbench.
Id like to use it on my smaller 15" Dell tft to run alongside my PC instead of using my main PC monitor. The 15" TFT has a maximum native resolution of 1024x768 and 1280x768 doesn't work and comes up with a 'Mode not supported' message on screen.
Sorry I didn't explain myself very well. I also have a 20" widescreen 2005fpw dell TFT monitor as well - this is where I found out that the resolution was being displayed at 1280x786 resolution @ 60hz as my 15" tft says "Signal not supported" - which makes sense if its maximum resolution is 1024x768
I've checked the tooltypes and for the CVision and the resolutions are entered correctly (no sign of 1280x768 anywhere)
Is it correct that OS4 uses the CVision driver for the Blizzard Vision? Could that be why im getting this or is the BVision meant to use the CVision driver?
Cheers for the advice! Ive just checked the technical data sheet from Dell for my 1505FP 15" TFT monitor, and it shows that the polarity for the 800x600 are both plus for the hsync and vsync yet they are both negative for 1024x768
Could this be it? Maybe OS4 defaults to plus plus for all resolutions maybe?
Gunna try it when I get home and let you know the results
-hsync and -vsync didnt make any difference, but changing it to 75hz (which according to the Dell 1505fp manual has polarity +/+ as defaulted to in OS4) work beautifully!
