Outbox vs Savebox?

I noticed that messages in the Outbox can be moved to the "Savebox". But Savebox is limited to only 10 items!

What is the point of the Savebox? It seems to imply that Outbox messages are somehow deleted eventually?

Was it that both sender & recipient share the same copy of the message, unless it is in savebox? It certainly looks that way.
