@thomas

Danke Thomas will try this out.

I know I can't launch Freespace or Doom ppc etc as not sure what libs I should have or don't have. Tried the original PPC lib from the phase 5 CD also.

My Cyberstorm is the DCE 060 233mhz version.

All very well said & I don't mind donating towards people's hard work & support, just wish I had OS4 up & running! Stuck on os3.9 but will get there & start using the os4depot

Hi Thomas I didn't specify that option on the install & if I do install warp OS 5.0 or 5.1 the Amiga hangs & freezes once workbench comes up

SCSI CD Rom On Cyberstorm PPC
Just popping in
Just popping in

Have managed to get my A4000T running again but since trying to get the Yamaha SCSI cd rom on the Cyberstorm UW connection I can no longer get it to see the cdrom. It finds it in the mounter as unit 2 but my main UW HD is also unit 2.

Any tips on how you can get the cdrom to work on OS3.9 on the UW chain ?

Currently on SCSI 2 internal but no longer works since I messed up cache cdfs by trying IDE FIX 97 after installing OS3.9 & editing the devs dosdrivers to equal cybppc.device & unit no.

My emergency floppy was booting it but now fails to see the CD rom on the scsi 2 chain!

Any help would be appreciated so I can move to OS4.0

@depechemode5

Got it working I had to press space bar in the Cyberstorm menu, after a few attempts of installing the OS I found that wiping it was best as it would lock up esp if using the Power PC support on OS3.9

No idea how to set up warp os etc
Only thing I am stuck on is getting my cdrom on the Cybppc chain as it is not recognised on SCSI ii or the later

@thomas

Hey Thomas you are a life saver, I'll try this tonight & fingers crossed get it up & running again. Would this also explain why the PIV splits the screen in half on early boots so left is right & right is left ?

Will let you know the results thanks for the advice & hopefully I can get OS4.0 installed.

Cyberstorm PPC booting screen issues
Just popping in
Just popping in

I have taken my A4000T apart & built a second one with the PPC hardware & I still have a problem booting.
For some reason the early start up screens are all running at the wrong sync rate via the 15khz amiga monitor. I know ESC can show the cyberstorm boot menu but I can't see it to adjust it.
It does this with or without the PIV, I have tried booting from IDE, UW SCSI or even with no drives & get the same result if I try the early boot. If I try an AGA game from floppy it's fine or if I wait for the disk screen it's fine.
Any help on this would be good ! Can I just attach a PC monitor with a VGA adaptor to handle the output?

@TMTisFree

Hi thanks for the advice, I haven't used it for a while & installed a new boot cable on the UW so it could be that maybe.

I'll try your suggestions & fingers x'd get it up & running on OS4.0 once it's stable on 3.9

Your English term oxidisation is correct.

Picasso IV Problems with Booting A4000T
Just popping in
Just popping in

Hi been away from the miggy scene a while (although I never parted with my A1200!) I have an A4000T which unless I get it up & running I'm tempted to sell it as they are selling for crazy prices & I'm getting fed up with it sat around in bits)

I'm new to the forum & would appreciate some advice, I have offered help to others via Amibench in the past.

My 4000T early boot screens when used via the PIV do not come out correctly on the 19" TFT monitor or on a bog standard 15khz Amiga monitor via the video port.
The screens split vertically in two & you can just make out the GFX. I am running Picasso 96 & OS3.9.

Are there any settings I have missed or jumper configs to sort this out ? I have the latest version of the PIV & it used to be fine on a 19" CRT.

My Processor is running the 233mhz PPC 060 Cyberstorm with a Prelude, also & a one stop music card.
I am running the boot drive from the Cyberstorm & I have no IDE drive. Other SCSI 2 drives have the PFS2 system which I think is causing a problem as they don't always appear on the WB as mounted.

Would like to get up & running on OS4.0 (got it ready to install) but I am having boot issues/stability now since I tried to see what I was changing on the Cyberstorm boot menu.

Any help with getting the PIV to show early boot ups correctly would be great as I want to see what OS4.0 is like.

Also I have a brand new arpegiator coming up for sale for the zii prelude if anyone is interested.

Thanks John
