@trixie
If that's the case, the wiki page has misleading info about "CAMD Midi Library support" :/
Looking at the photos Amigakit released Octamed8 seems to be running on "Amibench 46.1". I've understood it is 68k desktop which runs emulated on A600GS. Dunno how they handle the midi on A600GS, but an USB MIDI interface would be the closest option.

Finally! :--D AHI is definitely the standard on higher end systems today. And really suprised to see CAMD Midi Library supported as well! There are more features listed on wikipage: - AHI support for Amiga's retargetable audio subsystem - CAMD Midi Library support - MIDI file support - ARexx support - 16-bit and stereo samples support - Hard drive recording - Support for up to 64 channels https://wiki.amiga.org/index.php/OctaMEDGood to see the basics are slowly starting to form up. Is it 68k only at this time or is the native version coming later? Anyways, good to see some progress after years. There has also been some nice delevelopment on amiga tracker side lately. But good things usually come in pairs?

Forgot to report that mouse selection goes bonkers when used with rowspacing tooltype over 8 pixels.
When pattern position is on line 0 and using rowspacing=12 starts mouse selection on line 13. And with rowspacing=16 mouseselection starts on line 21.

@trixie I remember trying to make fonts more readable by creating custom fonts. Fonts are editable bitmaps and their width can be defined in fontdatas.txt. I don't know if height can be controlled somehow outside of source code.. It would help a lot if spacing around fonts (and font size itself) could be changed. Dunno how this is done in code and how PT's gui does the scaling. Native gui would be neat, SDL2 version with accelerated renderer as well. Quote: Much as I would like to see MIDI supported (and continue the effort that Tomppeli started years ago), I'm not sure I'm up to it - I'll have yet to see if the RtMidi class can reasonably be translated to camd.library functions. But I want to give it a try at some point, just to see if I can kill off OctaMED completely
Would be awesome :) Let me know if you need any help!

@smarkusg & Maijestro Have you tried to play with PROTREKKR_MAIN_LOOP_DELAY env variable discussed on os4depot comments section? IIRC it did have some positive effect on playback with slower machines. http://www.os4depot.net/?function=com ... =audio/edit/protrekkr.lha@trixie Thanks! Most welcome xmas gift! It took some time to test this release since my soundcard was fried during a short break.. luckily got a spare SB live 5.1 card gathering dust on my peg2. On quick test everything seems to be working fine as usual. New Amiga specific options are definitely needed, I can finally see something Btw, os4depot release has icon tooltype for "linespacing" while readme mentions "rowspacing" (and this tooltype also does something). Anyways, thanks again for the update - I'll keep on testing this. So, is the next milestone MIDI?

I've been following this project closely since the beginning and Rave definitely starts to look very promising editor - Good work!
One feature request to consider: zooming with mousewheel could be mouse position dependant? Now zooming is always centered in wave display.

Yes, VSYNCMIN was defined.
@Raziel @MichaelMerkel
Exactly the same problem, good info - thanks!
Can't check the serial output at the moment.. So, it looks like this problem is related to either graphics.library bug or to gfx card rom code handling.. It's weird that on some setups 30hz is working but on some it's not.

I've been playing with screenmode settings lately too, but unable to pinpoint where the bottleneck is.
Got LG 38UC99-W ultrawide monitor which is capable of 3840x1600 resolution. This works fine with displayport and pc.
On X5000 I'm unable to get the full resolution with HDMI. When modes are queried with DDCMODE=ALL it lists all possible modes, including 3840x1600. When testing this resolution with screenmode prefs screen stays black until I hit esc. 3440x1440 resolution is fine.
Monitor is capable of hdmi v2.0 and cable is high speed certified. Radeon R9 280X has HDMI 1.4 which should be able to display even 4k at 30hz?
Is it possible to define screenmodes which have different refresh rates, ie 3840x1600@30hz and all other modes smaller than this @60hz?
No matter what modes I input to devs/monitors/radeon tooltypes, only the default modes are displayed in the screenmode prefs. Even if it's only tooltype 3840x1600@30hz (yes, DCC is disabled in this case).
For some reason 3840x1600 is always reported 61hz in the screenmode prefs.

@trixie Rave definitely looks sweet! Is it commercial software or free? File requester looks interesting too, is it replacement for ASL written only for this program? Plugin system is a good idea. So far I've used AmiSoundED but it's pretty basic for larger editing. I've used Stefan Kost's SoundFX too but nowadays it's quite outdated, unstable and never liked the way you select the range in sample window

Final Edition Update 2, what does it fix?

There was *huge* changelog in the latest OS4.1FE update which was a joy to read.
However, changelog was quite technical so thought to start a new thread which lists all the changes in concrete examples. So, if you've found software or feature which benefits of the update 2, please list it here.
I'll start with these:
- Horny midi sequencer: scrollbars nad gadgets are now drawn correctly - Blender: Starts now without crashing - Return to castle wolfenstein EGL: Feels stable and changing screenmodes on the fly works now

Latest OS4.1FE Update2 fixes the scrollbars and dropdown menus, just like Trixie mentioned - very nice :) Small donation sent to Frederic for fixing this, I suggest others do the same. There are small drawing issues still, but these are not showstoppers: Above happens when you load sample project and zoom the horizontal view, and depending windows size those black likes are drawn to scrollbar and window border.

@trixie What, like I'd give up so easily after been holding my breath and waiting for decades? Yeah, there are better alternatives but the best alternative is missing some essential features. I started a thread on amigaworld earlier but it seems there isn't interest. Talking about alternatives, there's also Horny sequencer, which doesn't work correcly on current OS4 release and isn't actively developed anymore. Also HD-Rec and AudioEvolution4 are no more developed. So, it's pretty much dead end everywhere.

Thanks for checking this. Using reaction gadgets outside of gadget group sounds like a not correct way to do it and maybe it was fixed in later reaction releases.
Fredrik, are you reading this? Or can you Trixie submit a bug report?

Ok, so no new radical changes in code after that.
Bugs with top-left dropmenu and scroll/resize bars are still there. Visually it looks like some of them are drawn in wrong coordinates ("0,0") in the main window. Drawing is probably handled differently in code but that what it looks like...
Also, sometimes I can summon large down arrow at top-left corner when clicking at the low-right area where scroll bar arrow should be. Just load any of the sample projects provided with Horny and try clicking the low-right area where arrows are missing.
So, anyone? :)

Sorry for late reply; I have same settings as you and newlib.library 53.36
Scandinavian characters display ok on remote shell, so it seems this is more related to Irssi after all... but, it is working just fine on windows Putty with same charset :)
One extra problem too: once you enter scandinavian characters to remote shell, you can delete them with backspace the double amount.

Very nice and stable release - and even irssi is working fine! Scandinavian characters seems to be displaying wrong ("?[K" instead of "ä" and "ö"), but I suppose this falls under full unicode support to be implemented in future.
Good work - small donation done!
