@xeron

According to the amiga hardware database the DKB 3128 is already slower than motherboard ram (about 20% slower)

@amigakit

When available, it could be interesting to look at speed comparison tests against local accelerator ram, motherboard ram or similar products like the DKB 3128.

@Thread

Maybe it will be based on this particular chip:

This would be very nice, an extra PCI slot for a CatWeasel.

That thread does not seem to specifically answer the question of " can it boot from drives attached to it?". I have an XE.

Thanks for the info.
Chris

For what I've understood from rogue and others replies seems that it can boot from the card as far as the chip is recognized from the sub pci bridge on the card by uboot but I'm not sure at all.

@Daz

All the cards I've linked have a SI3112 chip for sata and a NEC one for usb 2, I've looked inside the windows drivers they link and I'm pretty sure of this. That's also the reason for the higher price, usually cheaper ones use Via chips for everything and I suspect that this solution don't need an additional pci bridge chip to complicate design and raise the costs

@QuikSanz

If you are lloking for something that "should" be souported by OS4 maybe you can find something useful on this thread at AW.net

http://amigaworld.net/modules/newbb/v ... opic_id=27699&forum=33&15

The ideal solution is a combo card that use NEC usb and siil 3112/3114 chips but they tend to cost a lot.

EDIT:
I've found this card that should work with OS4 drivers at least on XE's:

Re: AmigaOne cpu card

@Swisso
My question was a simple assumption that since apple and A1s cpu cards sit the same bus with the same (more or less) signals and voltage the conversion should be possible.

@interrogative

There are also single cpu solutions that are way more powerful that actual ones available on A1s

So we have a cpu on a daughtercard connected with those megarray socket but the socket itself is incompatible to those on older powermac.

Am I dreaming if I think of a sort of signal converter from one to the other that give us the possibility to installa something like this:

@328gts

Taken from warblade's home page:

The game now uses the great PTK game library and will now run under DirectX or OpenGL

I think that until this PTK Library will remain closed source it will be impossible to port Warblade to AOS4/AROS/MOS without rewriting some portion of the game code

@freddix

Instead of asking for source which is probably all assembly mumbo jumbo maybe we should ask him for a port of his successor to deluxe galaga:

@gurus2000

Have you considered buying an external hd enclosure with e-sata port and maybe an e-sata adaptor for the sam ?

Inside the enclosure you can put the sata hd you want and you'll get the best performance available.
