@ssolie
How about a list of screens and windows (child windows etc) and give the options to FORCE a close of any of them (like Scout does)?

Perhaps next time you choose to open a worldwide poll, it might be an idea to use a site that is in English.
Just an idea

@agafaster
Just as a side note here, it might be worth to note that WEP encyption does take time to process on both the in and out packets.
On my wireless setup here, I have the router set to filter out any MAC addresses that aren't on the list. This makes the system faster, as it only requires a check when the connection is first initiated.
Anyone not on my list isn't getting in :)

Pre-release 4? Is that the same as OS4 Final?
If not, that might explain some of the crashes

Yes,. that bug has been fixed, and I've just fixed another in the redirection code, so OWB downloads should work now with 1.97 to be released soon

@GrumpyOldMan
This is the first I've heard of this, but it's highly likely this may have been addressed in the later versions of the Radeon driver. Looks like you'll have to wait until the A1 update is available to check.

@Skov Firstly, you need to download the 7z decompressor client ( http://os4depot.net/share/utility/archive/xad_7z.lha) and install it. You'll need to reboot in order to use it. AmiUpdate is an UPDATE mechanism, which means you must have something to update first. If you haven't got 1.8+ installed, then as far as AmiUpdate is concerned, theres nothing to update. Simon

I'm not sure what the courtcase is doing to moral, or why it should even affect it.
The Amiga as a platform went through years of no leadership after Commodore disappeared, but there seemed to be a boom in users and bedroom coders developing stuff for the "community" to play with.
The Amigas of the time worked exactly the same as they always did, and that situation hasn't changed today. The Amiga is a tool, like any other. My hammer doesn't stop working just because the company that made it no longer exist, it can knock in nails with the best of them.
While I understand that some may be getting a little disallusioned by it all, it doesn't detract from the fact that the Amiga is still a fun machine to use, and with the advent of faster hardware AND an updated operating system, to me it's more fun than ever!
We need less of this moaning and bitching, and more positive vibes, especially from "Mikey the Greek"! :)
Perhaps getting involved with a project might highten the mood, and bring something about quicker than may be otherwise?
Anyway, while my machines (yes, I have 3 AmigaOnes) still keep working, and the fun element is still there, I'm here to stay. Those that have left are, in my mind, using the courtcase as an excuse. I would assume the flame went out for them some time ago.
The Amiga is dead, long live the Amiga!
Roll on....

@TSK Quote: TSK wrote: It did this two times but no problems since then. It's hard to test anything when this behaviour is random and rare. These kind of random problems are most likely hardware related I guess.
Quote:I'm assuming here that your network is set to use DHCP Yes.
It's possible it maybe hardware related, I would certainly, and do myself, go down the static IP address route, it makes my network so much faster to initialise. TBH unless you move your machine around from network to network, or you have a hundred machine LAN, I can't really see the benefit of DHCP. Simon

I'm assuming here that your network is set to use DHCP. If this is the case, when the network interface is initialising, it is trying to connect to the DHCP server to get an IP address. If the network is down for any reason, the ethernet driver will be delayed while it tries to get a responce from the DHCP request.
Try setting your network to static IP addresses and see if the situation changes.
