@Raziel
please contact rigo directly so that he can change the amiupdate entry in the database. it seems the flag is set that installs it even if the corresponding files are not installed. that can be changed though.

Maybe if you at it, then just 2 archives: QT-user.lha, QT-SDK.lha ? So user one _only_ libs/demos (no sources, no .svn files), and QT-SDK.lha only sources of demos/examples (no qt itself sources, no libs binaries, no .svn, nothing, just pure sources and necessary includes for SDK).

I have done an extra test by copying the clock and notepad to an other harddisk and put them in wbstartup. Then removed the harddisk and the workbench hangs again afther a boot.
i just tried the following with the current update: - copied commodity to partition "test:". - added commodity to wbstartup - restarted - all fine - renamed "test:" to "test-x:" - should behave like removing partition - restart wbstartup now asks to insert device "test:". which i can abort two/three times. then everything goes on just like normal. maybe you should simply install the updates at a start?! regards.... michael

Try "expunge all"
Although I'm not sure what you are both trying to achieve. If an app doesn't dynamically pick up a language change, then quitting and re-launching it should fix that.
afaik this is not (always) true. the catalogs are cached by locale.library. when i translate a catalog to german and am testing it it is *never* enough to just quit and restart the app. i need a APPDIR:Expunge locale.library to let the current version load. regards... michael

let snoopy run during an amiupdate installation and check what happens when copystore is called. maybe the destination path is somewhat changed? regards... michael

have you set the autocheck interval of amiupdate? also you can tell it to check right at the start. should work without problems. regards... michael

Normal for the 20 tasks (or more). Rogue explained that TW is vastly multithreaded.
well, tw is not always "locking" during using it. it often shows ~90% cpu load and everything is still usable. when talking about locks i don't think this has anything to do with the number of threads being executed. just that one thread is locking up at some point in time - or is waiting for any event not happening. whatever. in one forum it was speculated that it may have smth to do with the filesystem somehow. if i see tw using 100% cpu load and stopping sometimes it helps to just start some disk activity. at least at the beginning. but again - i thinks this all can be found somewhere in the bugtracker already. just let's see if the last nasty problems can be fixed soon to have tw running as os4s no1 browser. regards... michael

well, i think this depends who you ask. i for myself would not call it "usable" on my side. i really would like to replace muiowb with timberwolf as my standard browser. but as long as at least every second start of tw it ends in a "lock" (100% cpu usage - no more mouse/keybord input possible) and every second or third quitting ends in a grim reaper which both result in a colrd/warm reboot i simply can't do it. im sorry to say so. afaik both is open and available in the bugtracker. on the other hand - if it does not lock up, it feels quite good and i really enjoy using it. on my side these two are the only two major remaining problems which need to be tracked down. i also read from users having problems starting tw. but i really seldom see this here. (edit) btw: i'm definitely willing to run some tests or send in more logs - if someone tells me exactly which ones. just contact me per mail. regards... michael

25fps gives smooth enough action on television etc. Human eye usually can not detect higher frame rates.
i think you're mixing some things. the 25fps for a tv set being "smooth" means, that you see the single pictures not as single pictures but as a "moving film". for computer games this is completely different. imagine you're playing a first person shooter. you as a person are standing still and turing around for 360 degrees. on and on. let's imaging this takes 2 seconds. 2 seconds -> 360 degrees. having 25 fps means 50 "still" pictures rendered for a 360 degree turn. about one picture every 6 degrees. wouldn't it be much smoother to be able to see a picture every 3 degrees? or even better? if you turn around your head in a room also everything looks "smooth" and not "stuttered". so 50-70 fps is much more adequate i think. regards... michael

i think amiupdate itself is updating it. but this will (of course) fail if the copy store used is the old one just let amiupadte download it and failt to install. then use the downloaded archive to install it manually. regards... michael

Closing tabs and quitting OWB 3.32 work fine now.
when having delays in loding pages of in closing tabs just try to select some text in the current webpage. or just click into it. this lets owb go on. maybe a request loop problem? i mailed jörg about my finding. maybe we can see a patch later? regards... michael
