@orgin
Looks nice, I haven't tried it yet myself.
Can you do:
-directory navigation - back, forward, up level? -does it have a drop down list or history of recently visited directories? -can you change the view mode of the icons (list/thumbnail/etc?)
Thanks, I will check this out on my MicroA1.

@Elwood
Well it would have been best if ACube had designed a consumer (and not embedded) motherboard and put in standard DDR Simm sockets...
But it seems they were/are targeting a different market and not AmigaOS 4 users....or am I wrong?
If so, I don't know why they put these silly ram sockets on (silly for consumers like Amiga users...). Maybe they have their reasons. Could be Technical or cost reasons or some other reason...
But I think you could take all the embedded/industrial components off the board and reduce the cost/size!!
Having said that, I am not complaining. I think any new motherboard is great for our Amiga market...however...
I am personally still waiting for the 1+GHz high-end board. I already own a Pegasos-2 and a MicroA1 and I want something even faster...

What about the sound support with the Deneb? At least I had a USB sound card working on OS 3.x with my Deneb....so it should work on OS4, too?

@Pierre55 I have trouble on OS4 classic with OWB 3.x, including the latest 3.6. Go to http://www.shoutcast.comPuts cpu to 100% and slows down system ....you have to reset. Seems OK on the MicroA1 with OS 4.1, though... :(

Project Menu says "New Window", but perhaps that should be named "New Tab" and also a separate option for "New Window"?
Otherwise looks great so far :)

@brotsalami
After owning a MicroA1 with the limited onboard graphics and single PCI slot, I would definately spring for the Flex.
OS 4.1 can use alot of graphics memory especially in high resolutions with compositing turned on. Adding a 256MB Radeon 9250 gives you lots of breathing room. Not to mention the Flex can have 1GB of RAM...so with both of those points, plus still two free PCI slots, I think the Flex is the way to go at this point.
However, if you prefer a very small compact system and won't require really high-resolutions the existing Sam440 is probably a better choice.

@orgin, cyborg
Hi guys, can you also make it available as a separate download, the current version? Or is that not possible now that it is part of OS4 ? Does the current OS 4.1 release work on OS 4.0?
Thanks

OWB 3.x on own screen

HI all, since OWB 3.x I cannot get OWB to open on it's own screen. It was working fine before.
I have my OWB screen defined in screens prefs, as per the readme file.
I launch OWB, I see the splash screen and it is clear OWB loads and starts--somewhere. The mouse disappears as if it is opening on its own screen. Pressing Amiga-M brings my mouse back to the workbench (but screen doesn't physically switch switch). Dragging Workbench screen down shows nothing behind it (eg. it is black).
Testing my screenmode works fine, it opens ok.
Anyone have any ideas? I have the Tooltype:
PUBSCREEN=OrigynWebBrowser enabled and I have a screen defined in screens prefs with same name (which worked fine on 2.x).
The screenmode is set as 1696x1056 to avoid the OS 4.x graphical bug. Actual width and height is set to 1680x1050.
As I said, this all worked fine before...anyone have any ideas?
NOTE: it is quite possible that OWB is opening not on my Radeon 9250 but on my Radeon 7000 instead, even though it is set to open on the 9250....I have a PCI Radeon 9250 installed in my MicroA1 set as the Workbench. I don' t have a monitor hooked up to the 7000 ...but I guess I should check it :)
Edit 2: OK it is opening on the Radeon 7000 - even though I have no monitor file in Devs:monitors for the 7000. Must be a bug.

@Troels
It's too bad it's canceled, but it comes as no surprise to me. Even the MorphOS version has not been updated in a long time and falls far short of OWB on the browsing experience. Sputnik still has more "features", but for me it's the rendering that counts.
I hope that Sputnik is improved in the future though.
For OS4, I think Netsurf and OWB are turning out to be nice browsers.

Well, it says May 2001 on amiga-news.de link from that article.
Much has changed since then though, I wouldn't invest anything in it now.

@TMTisFree
If that is true, they should give the user the option. I bet many people would go for it to get the extra ram.

@KimmoK
If that is the case, they should get rid of the "industrial" features that end users of OS 4 will never use....free up the memory space and allow 1GB ram. And maybe that could lower the cost of the board, too.

I have a Micro...I only have 256MB ram, but I know you can put up to 1GB in it (or maybe even 2GB). But you need to get the correct type of memory.

Weird. UBoot on the AmigaONE's have no trouble with more than 512MB...
Anyone from ACube care to comment on the ram limitation? Hopefully on the flex you can offer more ram?
