@Atheist
None of which effects the matter of OWNERSHIP. As uncomfortable as some might find that to be, it IS a rather important part of the puzzle.

So, does the lack of replies imply a lack of imagination or a lack of interest, or...?

I?ve got a bit of a game of imagination for you to play. Yesterday I took a few photographs. Today I finally got the chance to look at them, and one of them?when I loaded it up? Well immediately upon looking at it I saw what could ALMOST have been a sketch of a scene from a fantasy story. I?m not going to tell you (yet) what I saw. I want to know what you see. One tip: Don?t make the mistake of looking with TOO fine an eye, or you might miss something. OK, here?s the photo.

@Outcast There appears to be lots of interest in games called Battle Chess, so maybe it?s not completely hopeless.

Justia has a corrected version of the Judge's order (listed as document number 40). At first glance, it looks as though the person doing the filing forgot to put some kind of UPC symbol across the top of the document. Nothing big, but I haven't looked any deeper, so there might be other differences as well.

@GregS
Could it be possible that Hyperion's lawyer is playing a masterful game of checkers, when the real game is actually chess, or has he taken it a level deeper that AI's lawyers do not yet contemplate?
For those who think this a tempest in a teapot, allow me an allusion to The Lord of the Rings: While all the powers that be were facing off against each other with all their armies of millions, who was it that destroyed the One Ring? Take care in your answer, and think. If you haven't read the book, get it and read it?carefully.
Why would the rich and powerful be so concerned if there was nothing to be concerned about? What is it that we are not seeing?
One of the things that Garry Hare said when he was running the ship was that Amiga was an essential piece in a puzzle that he was not permitted to tell us about.
There is MUCH MORE involved here than merely Amiga and Hyperion. I only wish I knew what it was.

@DonF
All I know about him is what wikipedia says. I just figured that his name might be a place to start in searching out some answers to your concerns. The reason I looked him up on wiki was the revelation that he has been connected with George Soros (sp?), who I sure wouldn't be comfortable with owning Amiga.

From personal experience (my employer being taken over) I know that the transfer of debts needed to be negotiated into the take over. Now, since the transfer of debts needed to be negotiated into the take over, it necessarily follows that debts need not be transfered as part of a take over, or those negotiations would not have been necessary at all.
Just because a company gets taken over does not mean that the buyer took on their debts as well. Frequently that is not the case.
Earlier I posted this same information in this thread, and the post disappeared; no PMed explanation, no "edited/moderated by", just no more post, so maybe it happened by accident. However, since the leaning on this forum seems to be going decidedly anti-AI, I kind of doubt that it was by accident.

Any Amiga I buy from this point forward will have been built by or under non-court-compelled-or-decided license from Amiga, Inc.?not some fly-by-night IP thief. I refuse to support shenanigans designed to wrest IP away from its rightful owners?no matter what some court might say. Hyperion could have had OS4 FINISHED AND COMPLETE years ago, but they kept on adding and adding and adding stuff that was not supposed to be in 4.0. When they were doing it and announced what they were doing we were all uninformed happy-happy-joy-joy sycophants cheering them on. No more. The shrouds have been pulled back and under the light of day their deeds look and smell rather noisome and I, for one, will not support them.

@pvanni barcodewriter does not require a font, but actually draws the code itself, and, since it is written in pure postscript level 2, you can download it to your postscript printer and have its functionality added to your postscript printer's capabilites until the next reset of the printer. I'm not sure how that works in particular, but I know that it should work, and that the claim is made by the author. You should visit the website and see what this thing can do.

I have found a barcode generator, written in Postscript Level 2, that is intended to be added to the prologue.ps file that your software uses to generate postscript files. Since it is written in postscript, it should work with any platform, including Amiga. As the software?s website shows, there are already some front ends for it on some platforms. Creating such a front end for the Amiga OS (3.x, 4.x) might be a useful endeavor.

@acefnq
Hyperion signed a document accepting the transfer to ITEC, their own website reflected (according to the plaintiff exhibits) that Hyperion knew and accepted that they were under license from KMOS, and Amiga Delaware is simply a rename of KMOS, requiring no transfer or acceptance, as it is the same corporate entity.

I read parts of the IRC chat posted on the bunny. I have my doubts as to whether Ben Hermans was even on IRC there. It doesn't sound like him at all.

Is this merely a speculation, or do you have a reliable source? If so, how much can you say in public?
