Whenever I go to, or change a page on this site I get the following javascript alert error

Anyone have hints what I can do to remove it, some setting or other?

@all

OK, I have managed to get .flv files playing by double clicking, and I had to do the following:-

[quote]1. Go into Prefs/deficons.
Scrolled down to movies in the left-hand, & added type flv.
In the window on the right, I added Pattern. #?.flv.

2. Go into SYS:Prefs/Env-Archive/Sys.
Duplicated the def_fli icon amd re-named to def_flv.

3. Went into Icon/Information on the new def_flv file and changed the default tool, on the Icon tab, to Work2:Movie/mplayer/MPlayer-GUI (my location of MPlayerGUI).
Set the stacksize to 655360, but I am not sure of the size required.
I then selected start from workbench. If this is not set you get the Execute file requester. Also if you don't select this MPlayerGUi shows the file name in the correct feild on the file tab but doesn't start playing it.[/quote

Then if I double click on a .flv file it plays according to whatever settings I have in the MPlayerGUI. I need to play with these a biit as at the moment the MPlayerGUI is left displayed once the file is played, but that is better than not playing at all.

Ibrowse Bookmarks
Quite a regular
Quite a regular

I was wondering if it is possible in IBrowse to add the new bookmarks to the end, rather than the beginning of the bookmarks list when using 'Bookmarks/add bookmark'.

I have certaion sites set up such as ebay, yell.com, AA route planner, at the top of my bookmark list, and I would like to keep them there. Instead of having to drag them back to the top after a few internet sessions.

Also I have some groups set up on bookmarks, for hobby's or current projects I am looking at, and I wondered whether it is possible to save a bookmark directly into a group rather than again dragging & dropping it there.

Any info greatfully received.

I've fixed numerous bugs with my ID tag reader as well! Hoping it will have been fixed with the new release.

Cheers,
Bean.

I had a quick look at the files using hexread in DOpus, and they seem to have the tag/file information in the header, and the tag also at the end of the file. Both look to have the same layout. I would expect you've already fixed this problem.

@bean

Hi Paul

I have played about with this some more, and encoded some no my A1 at 96kbps, and they play fine in Tunenet.

Again looking for differences between the files there is an info button on Tunenet, and I get diff info on the playable, and non-playable files.

The newly encoded playable files show:-
Quote:
Tune : I Might Have Been Queen
Album : Tina Turner
URL : Private Dancer

and the non-playable files show:-Quote:
Tune : 06 - Millionaire.mp3
Album : Local File
URL : Music:MP3's PC/Various Artists/Now 59 [Disc 2]/06 - Millionaire.mp3
When I look at the ID3 tags using AmigaAMP, they both look correct, with the correct info in the correct fields, so I don't know why Tunenet shows different info between the playable and non-playable files.

Anyway I hope this helps.

[Edit on]
Paul
On re-reading your post #7, I think this is probably to do with the id3 tag read code that you mentioned. Hopefully it is now fixed. looking forward to the next release

@PEB

You could use RunIcon (from OS4 Depot).

And then add a tooltype that is something like:
RUN=c:MPlayer/mplayer -mc 0 "%s"

You can add this to the DefIcon information; the only problem is that it will only work once you save an icon to the flv file.
I have never used that, but I will bear it in mind.
When I use 'play & save' from IBrowse, the .flv files are saved without icons, and it would be a pain to snapshot every file to add icon, assuming OS4 would use the correct default tool instead of multiview as it does in some case at the moment.

Anyway, thanks for that I'll give it a try.

Create a shell script, for example S:Shell/MPlayer_DefIcon, with the contents
.key filename/A
.bra {
.ket }
stack 1048576 ; no idea if it really needs a MB stack, but the default is too small
OS4:C/mplayer -slave -vo cgx_vmem::ALWAYSBORDER {filename}

Set the script protection bit, for example with "protect S:Shell/MPlayer_DefIcon +s" in a shell, change the default tool of def_flv to S:Shell/MPlayer_DefIcon, make sure "Startup from:" is set to "Shell" and disable "Prompt for input".
Oh!! Gawd, scripting is something I have managed to keep away from, ever since I first had an Amiga (1988). It worries me should I say, and I'm nto getting any younger. (See I can really waffle when faced with the unknown).

I will give it a try, although I was hoping for a workbench solution. In to the unknown..............

How did you aquire them? Downloaded files or stream recordings?
Used the Amiga or Windows?

Just trying to figure the input format.
They were encoded on my laptop, from a CD I Own, and transfered to my A1 via a flash drive. They are date the 27/01/2007, so are not old. I do not know why they are encoded at 96kbps, but they play perfectly well with multiview, but tunenet skips to the next track.
They play in AmigaAMP, and looking at the tag info in AmigAMP it says the files are MPeg 1.0 layer 3, and the format is 44100HzJ-stereo, which is the same as the files that do play in Tunenet. The only difference is the bit rate of 96kbps instead of 128, and 192 for the files that Tunenet does play correctly.

If they would play on the Laptop, but not on my A1 I would agree that this would be an encoding/winblows problem, but as both AmigAMP and Multiview play the files on my A1 I assume the "problem" is in Tunenet.

Paul had asked for bug reports, and I thought this was possibly a bug. But I would be more than happy to find it isn't and that I have done something stupid, maybe with tunenet itself.

Hope that helps.

In Icon/Information there is an option to select workbench or shell tri that, because I don't think mplayer is workbench program.
I have changed that and get the execute requester, rather than the flv file playing. If I select to execute I get the followng message:-
Quote:
OS4:C/mplayer -slave -vo cgx_vmem::ALWAYSBORDER: Unknown command.
The"OS4:C/mplayer -slave -vo cgx_vmem::ALWAYSBORDER" part is what I have in the def_icon, and I got the "-slave -vo cgx_vmem::ALWAYSBORDER" part from the print command line option in the MPlayerGUI.

MPlayer is definetly in C: so I must have the flags wrong, or in the wrong place. Maybe as a tooltype?

OK. I had to set up a def_flv icon by hand before the double click on the flv in the left window, or the menu item Icon/information works.

On testing If I Double click on an flv file, it still does not automatically play them. None of my .flv files have icons but if I view all files by icon, the def_icon is used and if I use Icon/Information the default tool sys:C/MPlayer is shown with a stack of 655360.

I am obviously doing something wrong, either of you have any ideas what?

Oh! I have just tested that all the .flv files I have play in MPlayer when Drag & Drop on the MPlayerGUI playlist tab.

Doesn't work without creating a def icon first.
Which I have now done, so I will go and test it out.

That works fine, but the following doesn't do anything.

which means I cannot do the following,
Quote:

Do I need to create an icon myself in env-archive/sys, and then make the changes you state?

Mplayer versions and .flv files (SOLVED)
Quite a regular
Quite a regular

I am currently using MPlayer experimental version #3 dated 24/8/06, in conjunction with MPlayer-GUI v1.42.

It works very well, and I can download and play youtube .flv files etc, and I am quite happy with it.

Browsing on here, I fould someone (jahc) had the Epiphany version installed. I had not heard of this so I went searching and found the MPlayer home page, there are a lot of download links, but not a lot of info about which version does what, and what hardware they are more compatible with (A1XE/A1SE/micro or classic).

I have an A1XE-G3 800mhz unfixed, and wondered which version I should be using with my hardware.

Also as an aside, I currently drag and drop the files I want to watch on to the MPayer-GUI window to watch them.
Can somebody let mw know how to change def icons to automatically launch for example a .flv file into MPlayer when I doulble click on it (the file).

Thanks for any help

Edit:- spelling (fingers too clumsy for keyboard)

Problem with playing local mp3 files
Quite a regular
Quite a regular

I have a problem playing some mp3 files I have on my hard drive.

I use Project/addmedia to add the contents of a local directory to the playlist, but when I play them Tunenet plays the first second or two, and skips to the next track.

If I play them via multiview they play fine.

Other locals file play fine in Tunenet, and the only difference I can see is on the Tune tab, in Tunenet.
It shows the non-playing files as:

Quote:
MP3: 96 kbps: 44100Hz Stereo
The files that play OK are showing as 128kbps, and 192kbps.

It would appear that tunenet cannot handle these 96kbps files. I can just re-encode tham at a higher bitrate, but I thought I ought to report the problem.

@GrumpyOldMan

I don't know the electronics of it, but I had a multicard reader fitted at bigbash#3, and all they did was make a hole in the connecter (the card reader plug) where the pin was missing so that the pin on the motherboard went in to it (presumably just so that the motherboard connector pins weren't bent), and evrything worked fine.

My card reader has the card reader which works like a hub, and also a usb socket which unfortunatley is just a pas through ans suffers from the usb problem on my unfixed A1.

@alexw

It looks very useful.As far as the download all button each user would only need to do that once to set up their local mirror. After that it would just be new/updated files.

What functionality does your program have. Can I set it to update my local mirror to the current status of OS4Depot. Say, if I have been on holiday, etc and have missed over a weeks uploads, and they have disappeard off of the recent page.
Could I do a progressive(?) download, or do I have to download each file manually?

Anyway, great idea, and looks good.
