Re: Guide for New A1222 Users
Quite a regular
Quite a regular

It is not easy for potential customers (or folks that have pre-ordered) to understand what is going on with the A1222. I'm then thinking about how to purchase it, where to find information, and updates concerning when it is shipping. We are talking about a system costing something like 1600 EUR!

If you are not following AmigaOS 4 news regularly or are a new to the platform, it is not easy to know who to contact or where to look for information.

Maybe an update to the Facebook page of AAA Technology (last updated in October) with some information about the current status would be helpful to potential buyers?

AAA Technology said they were finalizing the testing of the boards in the beginning of December, so there must be another reason why the boards are not shipping yet. It does sound a bit strange they are waiting for AmigaKit to add a product to a webshop before shipping? Back in October they hoped to ship the boards in November at the latest.

2024 - February - Balance Blox - Ended
Quite a regular
Quite a regular

Hi,

Welcome to another competition here on Amigans.net!

This month we'll be playing Balance Blox by Entwickler-X.

Thanks to 328gts for suggesting this game!

A demo version is available on OS4Depot:

http://os4depot.net/?function=showfil ... zzle/balanceblox_demo.lha

The full version can be purchased from Alinea Computer Shop:

https://www.amiga-shop.net/en/Amiga-So ... ownload-version::800.html

The price for the download is 5.95 EUR.

Quote:
In this game you have to drop blocks on the balance.

Blocks affect the balance according to thair distance from the bottom triangle.

Match three blocks of the same color vertically or horizontally to remove them from the playfield.

Every block has its own weight, so let them fall wisely.

If the balance hit the ground, the game is over.

Use Special Items like columnCleaner, rowCleaner and the colorCleaner for a faster playfield cleaning.

How to play:
Tap on the screen and move the cursor (Light over the column) to the column where you want to drop a block.
Release your finger and the block is falling down.

The goal is to get as many points as possible.

- Post a screenshot of your score below
- The contest ends at the end of the month (February 29th)

Good luck everyone!

GERP 2024 - Versus #10 Announcement - OCS and AmigaOS 4
Quite a regular
Quite a regular

Hi everyone,

Some of you might remember that Nukleus and Void have released several issues of the diskmag/chart Versus in the past for Amiga OCS and AmigaOS 4. Now it is time to announce issue 10!

Here's a few words from editor Browallia/Nukleus:

Excited to announce that we once again go for Versus, issue 10 for Amiga where you decide what you like! At Gerp we will open for votings for the people there and be able for chats.

The voting at Gerp 2024 will be pure old school with traditional paper votesheets + pencil. We hope to get votes during Gerp so we can continue serve the Amiga scene. See you there! /brow

On behalf of Versus team (menthos, ghandy, cefa, and browallia of nukleus, and puni, powerslave and hukka of void)

Versus (vS) comes out on OCS, OS4, smartphone and online.

I'll post here once the Online vote is open, so that you can vote for your favorites.

Here is Versus 9 for AmigaOS 4:

I found out if you put https://a1222plus.com it will redirect u to amiga.org. if you drop the https
and just do http://a1222plus.com, it goes to the 1222 site. However, the site that they created for
information is useless because they NEVER update it. It still says june 29, 2023.

Yes, it is strange that they do not update it. One would think this could help market the board.

They could, for example, have added a link to the Facebook-page of AAA Technology for people interested
in making a purchase, or perhaps add the contact information to the company. A couple of YouTube videos
showing the system in action running games, programs, and videos to show what it is capable of would help to!
Something to tempt people to investigate it more and wanting to buy it.

Eliyahu's page about the A1222+ is great though, so definitely should be linked to on the main A1222+ website.

@amiganuts

Good points! Would be very helpful if we had specific threads for this (Sam460, A1222+ etc.), especially here at Amigans.net where many of the active AmigaOS 4 users hang out. Thumbs up for your idea!

Btw, a bit OT, but I was trying to visit the official A1222+ website (a1222plus.com) and it redirects to Amiga.org. Strange.

@Maijestro

Thanks for the heads-up concerning the link. Have fixed it now.

As for fullscreen, you can change to this under "Options". At the top there you can switch it on or off.

Glad you liked the game! Hope to see a score from you in the competition.

Which Amiga games have you completed or do you want to complete?
Quite a regular
Quite a regular

Hi,

Yesterday, while reading the Amiga Retro and Forever blog (https://amigaretroforever.posthaven.co ... hless-play-and-completion), I was impressed by the author who had played through Breathless. I've played it a few times, but never completed it.

That got me thinking. Which Amiga games have I actually managed to complete? Honestly, not many. I've done Nitro a few times, Dune 2, Civilization, Parasol Stars, some of the adventure games, and a few others... How about you? Which Amiga games have you managed to beat? Or which ones would you like to complete in the future?

Here's a few I'd like to do in the future:

1. Gloom
2. Breathless
3. Arabian Nights
4. Super Frog
5. Banshee
6. Simon the Sorcerer
7. Alien Breed 3D
8. The Chaos Engine
