Indeed, Joerg explained somewhere why OWB doesn't use the video memory.

I could not explain it myself but there was a good reason if I remember correctly..

ah ok, thank you!

It uses some only when opening a second window.

@salass00

same here.

With 2.4 and on under OS4 for classic, opening a window with OWB running, take a couple of seconds.

edit- weird! OWB 2.5 "seems" not using any videoram at all.

I am trying to install OS4 on Classic on an A1200T (not my own)

It has IDEFix, PPC/Bvision/HDD/Floppy/CDRW/64mb Ram etc, etc.

When switching it on with the OS4 Boot floppy inserted and OS4 CD in Drive. It will cycle through the normal colours re-boot several times then depending on my display equipment either:

Hang on a black Screen via a Monitor (not Amiga Monitor)
or Give me a white screen via a TV.

try to connect an Amiga RGB monitor.

edit- oops you have already a TV connected

@johnfante

eh!?! anyway ... run SnoopDos and look whats missing.

That "garbage" is probably due newicons

but ... are you sure we are speaking about a plain OS3.1/CGX installation?

During the CGX instalation, you have chose to instal newicons?

Re: CyberVisionPPC

here mine:

BITMAPCACHE=YES
BOOTLOGO=NO
PACKED24=NO
PASSTHROUGH=YES
SCROLLMASK=NO

edit- goto SYS:Prefs/ and run CGXMode (with an Amiga native monitor connected to the 15 Khz rgb port)

Chose a suitable Monitor setting from "Monitor Specification" >Edit>Default (chose one that meets the maximum horizontal freq supported by your monitor)

Then test one that fits your CVPPC wb resolution, then reboot.

When you are sure that the chosen resolution is ok, goto SYS:Prefs/Screenmode and pick the CVPPC at the right resolution.(test it and save)

@johnfante

did you have in the past P96 (with another gfx card) installed onto that AOS3.1 partition?

and check to have the the CVIsionPPC.info in SYS:Devs/Monitors (IIRC for some reason the CGX installer fails to copy it)

@Amigamancer

if your speaking about dosbuffers, not.

It adjust the read ahead cache system embedded in SFS (the way you/we adjust via SetCache or SFSConfig under 68k)

@johnfante

the problem seems LZX.

Just tryed to install the archive and i got a GR (you can ignore it and the install goes ok anyway)

Remember to blacklist all the delfina related libraries/device

Then copy delfina.audio (from the 68k AHI archive) in Devs:/AHI and DELFINA in Devs:AudioModes

@johnfante

unpack the archive in RAM:

change the Delfina Install.info tool, in Installer (not c/installer433)

Remember to NOT install the AHI user part

Edit- just tryed the default install script and it works (at least it starts without any guru)
