Re: DEbug 101

@Mrodfr
A good debugger seem to be something all developers would benefit from.
Regarding Alfkil's freetime I'm not so sure that is a positive thing, at least not for anything else than his software development

@Alfkil
Keep up the good work!

@vox

Well, we will see about CommodoreUSA owning any Amiga trademarks or licensing for that matter.

I have a feeling it's not that straight forward for Amiga Inc to license the trademark. Time will tell.

@Marko
No news I'm afraid.

I have contacted Paypal 10 times by email without ever getting a reply.

EDIT: 11 times just now...

I also contacted them by phone 3 times now only to get answered by a young lady who said she would send my account in for review and that there was nothing more they could do. Then nothing happens.

Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any alternatives as moneybookers doesn't accept donations but only fixed prices for specific services or goods.

@Helgis
AROS is not build on any AmigaOS code (or so they say;) it is an opensource version of AmigaOS3.1 build from scratch.

Ontopic:
I think Hyperion will stop this madness in a hurry.

It's not like people didn't think of the possibility of Amiga Inc using AROS in place of OS5, so I'm pretty certain Hyperion have taken the necessary steps to prevent that from happening.

@LiveForIt
No it's not funny but pretty typical for the Amiga scene.

Look at the positive side of things (7-9-13) at least it's not preventing Hyperion in working on AmigaOS, neither is it stopping Acube or AEON.

@ChrisH

YES I did think Iwin but I doubt it's fake since longtime AW.net member BigBen TheAussie has stepped forward and admitted to be part of "Commodore"USA.

Anyway it will be interesting to see what will be happening now we have 2 Amiga systes commercially available.

One Amiga like OS running on Amiga branded HW and the Real AmigaOS running on AmigaOne HW

Must be confusing for outsiders.

@Helgis

Hyperion does not own the Amiga name. Only AmigaOS, AmigaOne etc.

It must be something else HyperionMP is thinking of. Maybe someone who followed the courtcase can tell us?

I put a link to HyperionMP's statement in my post above.

I hope Amiga Inc has to pull out of this deal with Commodore, more court cases would be a waste of OUR time

Re: Commodore USA acquires rights to Amiga name

@BillE

At the other site HyperionMP already talked about having his American laywers take action. There seems to be a breach of the contract between Amiga Inc and Hyperion.

http://amigaworld.net/modules/newbb/v ... wmode=flat&order=0#577704

I guess both Amiga Inc and "Commodore" have had laywers had a look before entering the agreement so this is going to be fun to watch.

Must say that IF the agreement between Hyperion and Amiga allows Amiga Inc to license the Amiga name for use with an Amiga like system as AROS it looks like a really bad performance by Hyperions laywers.

@orgin
Commodore USA would/should have nothing to do with AmigaOS4 going X86 (or X86-64). This decision should have been made no matter if Commodore existed or not.

Personally I don't give a sh#t which CPU runs my computer (IMO the Intel Outside days are over) I just want it to be cheap and easy to get hold of. AROS certainly showed the way lately by supporting a few but readily available setups.

Regarding the Commodore USA products I think the current line sucks and I think the days of an AIO (C64 like) computer is over.

So the new "Amiga" HW run AROS, this is gonna be fun to watch.

But all in all I find commodoreUSA's move pretty lame, I know they are in it for the money but chinese products with a Commodore (Amiga) sticker, really!

"I don't see why MUI 4+ isn't just open sourced really."

There could be a thousand reasons for that but of course it would be the ideal situation.

I have emailed Stuntz and asked into various scenarios, will keep you all posted if/when I get a reply.

We only have some old posts to rely on. A lot could have happened in that time that made Stuntz change his mind.

If anyone is interested in doing the port or want Stuntz to do it why not email him and ask if it's possible and what would be required.

EDIT: Just mailed Stuntz on the SASG email address, don't know if he answers that one?

@kas1e
Not to worry, account is not closed in that way.

We can transfer money, just not accept any. Besides all money is in the amigabounty association bank account in Handelsbanken Frederiksv?rk

But I have also read some of the horror stories about Paypal

Basically it's all a matter of how they should treat us (the association) regarding tax.
When Amigabounty association was started I contacted Paypal and changed our status to non-profit and that's when the problems started. Again it's fair they ask for documentation but when they don't review it or comment on it it's a bit troublesome.

Basically they should just check our CVR number with SKAT (danish tax authorities) to see that we exist as a legal entity. Then they should just proceed and annually report our "income" to SKAT who should know what to do.
