@Skov

Not sure about using Gmail with Simplemail, but it works great with IBrowse (being web based).

Yes.

I received several donations as a result of being 'featured'.

The only other time I received any donations was when Mikey suggested it last November.

There are a few Amigans who are VERY generous, but I think it's difficult for most of them to donate to EVERY dev out there.

It's not really about the money anyway (although that's nice too!) -- it's about encouragment. It's nice to know that your work is appreciated.

I'm not inclined to use the Star Trek imagry -- but I did come up with something.

Ack! Ack! Have you counted the number of images in AISS? It would probably take a year to create an alternate set (not kidding!).

I've been working on a larger update of the main icon archive, which mainly involves properly organizing them and rewriting the installer.

In the course of working on that, I've painted a few icons that were missing (or rather, repainted them as DualPNG).

Here's the icons I've painted so far (42 if I recall correctly) -- a strange mix to be sure, but there might be something in there that's useful to you.

Included are the icons requested in this thread, plus icons for HD-Rec requested in an older thread.

Are you looking for for DualPNG or the old 256 color glow icons? (what platform is this for?)

Uh Tubexx on 68k ?

Where I can find that ?

It's the OS4 version (Tubexx is an Arexx script).

I hunted down 68k versions of the various required libraries, etc. -- just wanted to see what would happen, and to my surprise, it worked!

It's definitely not practical and crashes a lot -- but it IS cool.

Please do not use the "apple" logo or we may all end up in jail!

Definitely a gray area ...

However -- my take is that when I imitate imagry with the intention of identifying a SPECIFIC product/use, it's "fair use".

The point of protecting a Trademarked image is to prevent confusion in the marketplace, dilution of the brand identity, etc.

Example:

A drawer with an Amiga logo on it that's intended to be used with AmigaOS is okay. (I'm promoting Amiga & not some competitor/diluting the brand).

A drawer with an Amiga logo on it that's intended to be used with Aros or MorphOS is NOT okay. (I'm promoting aother product and/or diluting the brand).

-----------

My feeling is that any drive icon I paint with Apple-inspired imagry on it would be useless for anything but Apple related products, so it would also be "fair use".

Having said that, if someone in an official capacity complained or asked me to remove something, I would (and have).

P.S. Anyone remember that Andy Warhol used Campbell's Soup cans in his artwork -- a good example of "fair use". Let's not forget that this is my ARTWORK!

Make sure you have the PNG icon module installed.

Library version question (possibly a stupid question)

Can someone tell me what the differences are between these variations of the same library?

ixemul-020f.library, ixemul-020fd.library, ixemul-020ft.library, ixemul-020s.library ixemul-020sd.library, ixemul-020st.library

f=fpu I'd guess, but what do the rest mean?

I've painted a bunch of new disk icons (actually, expanded out the existing set) -- 96 icons in total now.

Just wanted to thank everyone again for donating to my PayPal account last month. It definitely made me feel appreciated.

What I can see on the AfA Screenshot is, that the whole Alpha Blitting is not working correctly. The Directory doesnt habe shadows.

The window on the left in his screenshot is of the older icons, which don't have any blending/shadows.

The problem is the window on the right, which isn't displaying ANY icons (just the names).

@Alpyre
Something that just occured to me -- there are a LOT of icons in that drawer -- maybe it's just a low memory situation.

I have a bad habit of leaving broken links in my wake.

April was the last real release -- that link to k4_3 was combined with the main archive in April.

Very strange.

AfA looks like it is working, since the 'theming' is working in that screenshot.

Perhaps you could try sending an email to Bernd (dev of AfA).

The complete set is there plus the April update and some OS4 specific icons.

Is there something missing? I restored the site from a backup a couple of months back, so something *could* be missing.

Technically not for a couple of days.

My vote goes to the Friedens (FriedenHQ) & Hans.

(I also think Rigo (for AmiUpdate) & ssolie (for Ranger) would be good choices -- but they don't have PayPal buttons as far as I can tell)

P.S. Thanks to everyone who donated to me this past month. It was very much appreciated.

I remember this screenshot from the old days (1997 maybe?) and always liked it.

Since I've been into "theme painting" this week, I thought I'd see what could be done.

Ran into a couple of issues:

AfA can't do a proper gradiant fill across the top of the window.

Couldn't figure out an "easy" way to change the text color in the screen title bar to white (without goofing up other things) -- so I used a the lightened gray version of the titlebar painted for the inactive windows.

Still, not too bad -- now it just needs Orgin's icons!

It might look something like THIS.

Or it might not -- I'm not completely familiar with what OS4.1 can & cannot do.

Edit: Just so you know -- that's a paint over the top of a "real" 4.1 shot. AfA has trouble with rounded corners (it's not impossible though).

Heh, heh. Perhaps someday I'll be painting OS4 themes, rather than "re-imagining" them for OS3.x.

Pea Soup looks like the original Hyperion Theme - "MT", which was one of my favorites.

That was the point.

Tree Hugger = OS4 in green (more or less)
Pea Soup = MT (more or less)
Ikir = Ikir's theme (from OS4 Depot)

Gem & Tiffany are the only "original" creations in this archive (technically, they're ALL original -- just derivative).
