Hi Billsey,

I'm not sure if it's "irony", but, I like what he said, it all came from the fact that he's lazy. In fact, I think most of modern society might owe a debt of gratitude to inventors, who are really just lazy people that want something to be "done".

If you want a program to be made, you should really do it yourself. Begging for someone else to do it for you wont work.

Hi jahc,

How about this then, "I'm offering an idea for what I think is a new program that hasn't been done before to someone" rather than "I'm begging for a piece of SW for me".

I want it to be an Amiga origin program.

Hi jahc,

Even if I could program in C, it needs encryption too. This could be done externally I think, maybe run through a second program that does only that. Couple of other fairly sophisticated routines too.

No graphics are involved.

It's a pretty small project.

I doubt it's been done before.

I want a dedicated AOS4.x programmer (you know which systems I don't have an interest in).

Simply because windows in overwhelmingly available, it will be taken there as well. (And OSX and Linux.)

It will be a shareware program, possibly commercial.

PM me.

Hi MikeB,

Been reading elsewhere about the Sony virtual world (what's it called?) and what's awesome is, you can meet people and talk with them, who needs long distance calls anymore, AND how about this?

Every time you call a 1-800 number for customer service, now you can show them just what you're complaining about, a broken piece of furniture, or bicycle, or damage to your house to an insurance company. You can show them a still picture, or a video. If you can't assemble something, they can show you how. Or something to repair on your car... or sink/plumbing, electrical etc. etc.!!!

Well hey, it's a video phone +++

The only reason that keeps God from sending another flood is:
The first one was useless" -- Chamfort

Hi Raziel,

Hey, it's just another one of those failed godvernment programs/policies we always hear about too often.

I think that this short video, if nothing else, shows just how much the odds are that there ARE other planets with life forms on them, there ARE intelligent aliens on other planets, and that there ARE alien species that are MORE ADVANCED technologically than we are and that there ARE ALIENS that HAVE MANAGED to get to OTHER STARS!!!!!!!!!!

Percentage chance of the above paragraph to be accurate: 100%!

WE have a spacecraft further than Pluto, and look at our technological state THEN, when that spacecraft was launched, and compare HOW MUCH we've advanced since THAT YEAR alone!

Have aliens landed here in the past? I don't know.
Are they here now? I don't know.

They certainly are hiding from me, if they are.

The government can NOT hide them, if they WANT TO reveal themselves as being here.

IF they WERE here BEFORE, well, the government certainly COULD hide that fact from us.

Personally, I think they were never here, even an unaliened space probe....

I would like to think that all of out technological advances were due to our own sweat and creativity.

Why I don't think aliens are here:

1. We are wrecking the planet. I don't think they would allow this, or they would give us advanced technology, i.e. fusion power, so that we wouldn't do so...

2. For the conspiracy theorist who thinks that it's a plot to alter climate to the point where they could survive and we would be eliminated HA! I say. Why? Well, why allow us to USE UP all the resources and kill off more than half the world species until THEY get the planet to themselves? It doesn't make sense at all, when there are 1001 ways to get rid of us if they really wanted to. (Considering what their mastery level of technology must be compared to ours, having been able to get from there to here in the first place!)

Hey, why are people who say they've been abducted by aliens NEVER seen a robot on the space ship? Are we more advanced than they are?

I think that if aliens came here, they'd be more likely to wipe us out than open a dialogue. Why you ask?

Because we're nothing but a bunch of double crossers. IF THERE IS ANY CHANCE of us having the UPPER HAND, we TAKE IT.

Simply, we CAN NOT be trusted!

That's out "conquering", "dominating" and "imperialist" nature.

Just look at our planet Earth.

We've "conquered" it, and now we're proceeding to destroy it, and the fact that it's the ONLY place we can live, is really irrelevant, as long as a) corporate profits keep increasing year over year, b) there's someone saying "you can't control me", war will be waged against them till nothing is left..... like in that one original Star Trek episode (guess which one). Those aliens in that episode were truely "human".

This is not A-Cube's fault, BUT the 1.267 GHz G4 is $632.97 Canadian.

This can buy a 32 inch HDTV in Canada (okay, during boxing day sale). BUT, it could buy a name brand 32 inch CRT TV and leave $150 in your pocket at normal times.

This could buy a DVD recorder, WITH a 160 to 250 GB hard drive in it, and leave $150 in your pocket.

I guess that freescale and ibm have left the building.

Hi nbache,

That is why I keep saying that a G5 (let's say PA-Semi's dual core) should be the MAIN CPU on a motherboard and the Cell should be a co-processor.

The Cell isn't 100% instruction compatible with a G4 nor G5, I believe. Does the Cell have Altivec?

I continue to harp on about Altivec, simply because people were led to believe that since it's inclusion, that it was there for the long haul, and are coding with that segment of the CPU in mind.

Hi Helge,

They'll HAVE to drop their prices, due to the 36zero lowering theirs, and also, the Bluray manufacturing cost should come down too. Just like DVD-RWs used to cost $1200, now they're $90 for a top of the line unit.

HD-DVD players will TROUNCE them, if they don't lower prices.

A 9000 is faster than a 9250?

I know a group of people that should be tortured. First they make 18 different cards, then they make the SAME manual for 4 of the cards they sell.

The manual that came with my 9250 says that there is 64/128/256 MB of memory....

SURE on the box it tells you it's 128MB BUT!!!! it does NOT say how fast the ramdac is, but it says UPTO 400 MHz.... Huh? Which one me got, duuuh....

Apparently it's 64/128 bit DDR memory, kind of covering all bases there. But I have????

Hi Mikey_C,

Well, let's look at numbers.....

PS3, what, I don't have the numbers but was it 1 Tera flop or something? A Sam, 1% of that, hmmmm, a little less, I think.

3.2 GHz vs. 550 MHz? (That's ~6x.)

DDR3 ram!!!!!

AND it's 64 bit!!!!!

Also, ALL will have the same graphics subsystem, heck ALL the subsystems will be identical. That's VERY powerful. Only ONE driver set is necessary.

Then, sure there's a FPGA in the Sam, but aren't the SPEs like having SEVEN FPGAs at the same time?!?!!

Also, NO NEED for DVD or BluRay codecs, it's an innate ability of the mechanism.

Then there's the added bonus of playing all the big PS3 titles. Oh and the big PS2 titiles, and while I'm at it, the PS1 big HIT titles too, why not?

Then, there's MAME, .... and emulators that should be able to duplicate ALMOST ANY console before the Wii and xbuxz 36zer0.

Name one, other than those 2, that the PS3 won't be able to emulate????

So, how much would you pay for THAT???!?

BUT WAIT, there's more....

AOS4.0, UAE (1.0 to 3.9) and Aminet!!!!!!!

Hello fellow crusader, MikeB,

Here's how I see it.

If I had a billion dollars, I would call Sony and order JUST the PS3 motherboards. However, I would need a slight modification.

The motherboard would have to have a G5 (2 core PA-Semi, 2.6 GHz) as the MAIN CPU and the Cell would be a co-processor slave chip. Also, at least 4 PCI (2 standard, and two of whatever is the next gen slot) and then also 8 ram sockets for up to 16 GB of ram.

THEN it WOULD be an AMIGA! (next gen).

THIS would be an Amiga for upto 4 years time!

I suppose a quad core in 2 years would work out pretty good, though.

Sony wouldn't care that it could play PS3 games, and AOS4.x couldn't be pirated to work on PS3s.
