Re: Internet connection lost on my A1

@nbache

Yes,in fact I have the Amiga connected to the portable via these ethernet ports.

I have a wireless connection configured on the portable called
"Amiga One" and I don't know if it has WEP encription or not.

What is a WLan?

Are you sure my 3G USB modem Huawei E169 must work with the AmigaKit's wireless PCI card?

What's best a PCI card or a router when we are talking about wireless connections?

@Antique

Yes I have some ethernet ports one on my portable and on my Amiga One both connected with a crossed ethernet cable.On the Amiga port it shows lights one green and sometimes other light orange..In reality when I enable the net connection I created on the Amiga One it says on a window that it's configured on the direction I entered,the problem comes when I enter Ibrowse and go to a page it says "DNS adresss can't be found by the server",this transleted from Spanish.

What are the advantages and differences between a wireless router and wireless PCI card?

Is it easy to set up one of this things on my Amiga?

Note that have an USB 3G modem called Huawei E169 wireless too and every time I connect it gets a new ramdom IP adress.

Internet connection lost on my A1

I asked for this on AW.net and It worked for three weeks aproximately but when is lost I can't recover it.

Here are the two threads open on Amiga World:

http://amigaworld.net/modules/newbb/v ... =20&viewmode=flat&order=0

http://amigaworld.net/modules/newbb/v ... opic_id=28649&forum=32&19

I spent yesterday more than 10 hours trying to make tricks to connect my Amiga One via a laptop's wireless net connection via a crossed ethernet cable.Selected modem/telephone on the Setup Wizard that comes with OS4.1 and no luck.
With LAN and Ethernet connections nothing happens too even if I changed the Internet prefs later to suit the needs of my machine.I think on the PC side I did a lot of changes to make it work after seeing that with the option "Allow other users to connect to internet with this connection" wasn't enough to make it happen.

What can I do now?

Can I use a crossed net cable to link the connection between the laptop and my Amiga One as I did before?

Is a good solution to buy a wireless router or a wireless PCI card as the one they hold on the AmigaKit shop?

Thanks in advance I need your help.

@Fernecho

Best of luck with your SAM and enjoy OS4.1.Don't forget that the Hardware Compositing feature needs at least an ATI Radeon 9250 if I remember well.
On my Amiga One I buyed recently an ATI Radeon ATLUS 9250 128 MB at AmigaKit for this purpose and it gave me more problems that I could imagine at first sight and I turned off the transparency and all works fine again and the machine seems stable now except for heavy tasks like 3D games or powerful emulators.So to fully enjoy OS4.1 on your SAM you will need a Radeon with 256 MB I think.

I bet you won't be dissapointed with your new girlfriend SAM.And be patient all comes at the right age of time.

And about the topic I must dare to try the burning of the DVD with a RW with AmiDVD.I will keep you informed.

Today is a happy day because after more than two weeks I have managed to get a new connection from my Vista laptop to my Amiga One so happily I can play with IBrowse or YAM again!!!

Till soon Fernecho.

@Fernecho

Yes I hope AmiDVD can do the work for me and finally play the DVD with the games on the Playstation emulator.

The Playstation emulator is named FPSE (Free Playstation Emulator) and is avaliable on http://os4depot.net.

You can find in the emulation part of this primordial resource of Amiga OS4 software other emulators such the incredible MAME emulator for OS4.I recommend more MAME than any other emulator.Try it you don't regret it!
MAME is the best emulator ever!!!

The FPSE emulator runs great on OS4 at least on my Amiga One.Try it and tell me how it works on your new SAM 440 when you get the machine

@Fernecho

I really appeciate your effort and help but I am aware you are an OS 3.9 user that is great but maybe not equal to the daily using of OS4.0/OS4.1.

The problem isn't the lack of burning programs is more the lack of experience burning DVDs for the OS4 Playstation emulator.

Do you mean that an ISO image without nothing but the ISO image on the CD can run on a PSone?
Could AmiDVD make for me the work of burning a DVD for the PSX emulator?

About the data,can you explain me what is "Mod dates 1" more? I don't understand this very well.

And are you sure these settings you are using on OS3.9 will be aplicable on OS4.1?

I trust on you and want to stay secure before trashing out some DVDs.

Count me too for the OS4 strip of the exe.

I will help on any thing I can because MAME is the best program I have seen on any platform and I hope this new version must have more speed,less frameskip,joystick support and more and new games supported.

Visca el Bar?a!!! Yo soy del Bar?a tambien en los momentos duros y en los dulces igualmente.

With MakeCD I maked CDs for various purposes but I don't remember with what program I burned my last Playstation CDs.

Can you tell me why MakeCD doesn't recognize my DVD drives.I have a NEC DVD+RW,an LG DVD-ROM and a 8 months old LG DVD+-RW DL too.

Could it be that they are attached to a sil680 IDE card?

I don't want to make the DVD or CDs on a PC I like much more my Amiga One.And I have several PSX images on the HD of my A1 so I must burn it on the Amiga One.

Can you tell me what meaning has each of the options?

And how can I select it with Frying Pan or MakeCD?

@MagicSN

I have a problem with the OS4.1 version of AmigaInput.

As I am not aware of the problem until I tested on my A1:

What are the tricks to run AmigaInput on my machine?

When I click on the icon it only shows the Grim Reaper? Why this? can I fix it ?How can I?

Is very important to play the games with a joystick or gamepad.

An last but not least when is MAME scheduled for release?

Thank you Steffen

@jahc

Metal Slug are great but I prefer older arcades like Spy Hunter,Final Fight or Downtown that is great too!!!

Out Run is incredible but a bit slow to play on fullscreen on my AmigaOne XE-800 Mhz.

One of the games on the beat'em'up series impressed me more is Marvel Super Heroes and MarvelVsSNK.

On my MAME drawer I have nearly more than 2000 roms and now on my new laptop I am downloadind MAME with more than 6000 roms!!These will be played later on my Amiga One when the new version for OS4.1 comes to us.

I go mad when I first installed and played xMAME on my AmigaOne on 2006 because is the thing I wanted to do more with my previous Amiga 1300-030/50 Mhz.

Well let's see when it comes the new MAME how it is the results but I am sure it will make us all happier.

A question I have to is there list of the games suported by xMAME 0.97 somewhere?
I don't remember if it comes with the emulator archive but I need to know what roms I can play with MAME 0.97.

MAME is amazing simply the best emulator ever!!!

@lazi

I think the CD32 joypad can be used on emulators such ASP,VICE or DGEN.Maybe I will use it with MAME but on this field I am very well covered with my double X-Arcade stick.

I don't connect nothing when I try to run AmigaInput,it's already connected.

The gamepad is a Genius USB with six buttons that was a gift when I buyed my Amiga One provided by Amiga Super Bit.

If I disconect the pad could it be the solution?

Where are the directory settings? Maybe on the tooltypes or in the YAM configuration option?

Hello

I am surprised and dissapointed to see an error on OS4.1 AmigaInput.When I try to run it on Prefs drawer it shows a Grim Reaper and I cannot use it or configure AmigaInput.
This one is a thing for what I buyed OS4.1 and I can't reach more far than this message.

Does anybody has this problem on OS4.1 with AmigaInput?

Why this happens and could it be solved?

This problem was found on an Amiga One and I hope I can use AmigaInput on a near time.

I wonder what could have done Hyperion to bring AmigaInput on this state.

I haven't tried before but now I tried and the result is the same,all mails are few and the same.

Could it be something about the YAM icon tooltypes?
I think I succeded on reading the YAM 2.4 mails on YAM 2.5 enabling the (MAILDIR=YAM:) on other attempts.

Now I have enabled PREFSFILE=.config on YAM's tooltypes.

I take note of the commands and maybe will try it later

I already have PC Task 4.3 I think with Windows 3.1.It has various configurations to start Windows.All in all they were 5 options to start Windows under the emulator.

The problem is that I have thre MS-DOS 6.22 disks but my Amiga One doesn't read floppies even when FD0 is recognized by AmigaOS at least in the early startup menu.

I posted this on Amiga World but the problem I think remains.Yesterday I changed the boot priority of the Sys: partition to 6 because time before the priorities was setted 6 for OS4 and 5 as default for FD0.

Can anyone say me what's going on with my FD0 drive?
