@Jack Glad your planning already with your A1 again, hope to have you back at full speed soon @thread Dunno if it matters at all, the hardware should be compatible. Nothing special at the UBoot resolution either and PS2 is plain peecee PS2, so i think every KVM should do!?

Most web based chat clients reliy on JAVA iirc, so there is not a big chance to see one working with Amiga browser in the near future...sadly, i really hoped the JAmiga project would get some life back in :-/

@Atheist Sorry if i'm not that much of a help here, i can only advise you to drop the RAM (if you can give it back easily, do so) and go for another one: two of these do very well for over 7 month here now. About the technicals details...you got me, i just don't know anthing about it. About UBoot picky with RAM modules, i thnk it was/is a problem of the hardware. If i'm not completely mistaken Mr. Frieden said it couldpossibly be fixed, but he did not touch this part of the code for a long time and it is also not planned to do so in the near future(?) It would take time as it did with the Micro onboard sound... So, my advice would be and i go here with afxgroup, drop the RAM as it makes a lot of problems and get RAM that is known to work. Sorry for the lack of help :-/

@AmiDog Thank you for the info Will you release a Open/MiniGL (whatever we have, can't remember) version of the latest sources or rather wait for the next big release? Not that i'd be able to use it, that is, i'm on a Radeon9800 here and have to wait some more for GL to happen, but it would still be nice to have hardware accelerated gfx output on PS games.

@AmiDog Welcome to the forums You may be a bit deeper in the latest infos regarding FPSE(?) I know LDChen switched to do a Handheld version only(?), but what about portability to OS4 and new (full) versions? Can you share some insights, please? PS: The latest OS4 build from your website locks up on exit (OS4final)

Where to get "WIP7"?
I can only find FPSE 0.09, Amiga revision 3 (020515) on Amidog's website

I don't understand why one would do that? There is a ram disk already present when you boot in WB.
About the error:
Seems like something tries to start a file (saving the command in T:) but fails due to the mixed ram disks

@lazi Taken from the AmigaOS4 mailinglist: Quote: Date: Sat, 3 Mar 2007 02:23:45 -0000 Subject: Re: [AmigaOS4] Changes in 'Dimensions' tab freezes OS4.0 Final Reply-To: AmigaOS4@yahoogroups.com
There is a 'bug' in the PrinterPS prefs released with OS4, which detlef has now fixed. You cannot use 'return' (or TAB for that matter) to leave a feild. You need to use 'enter' or the mouse.
I had the same problem, and detlef (tetisoft) confirmed that this has now been fixed.
Infos in brackets added by me... Of course the fix will only be available with a new release

@Jack Just a few more weeks, matey, just a few more weeks @Mikey_C 1. Massive success for Hyperion, so that AmigaOS is secured for future development 2. A "modern" Office program (AbiWord, OpenOffice, i don't really care which one) 3. A decent, "modern" printer suite (drivers to be able to properly use 2.) 4. AWeb with CSS support 5. Amiga as resurrection platform for Point&Click adventures 6. A hardware base where i can actually choose That's all for now, don't want to sound greedy

@Helge Quote: First I have to ask: WHY not?
Ever thought of them not being in the position to change it? Just because they (will) bring out interesting hardware doesn't mean that AmigaInc. will jump on the train and throw a license to them, do they? Correct me if i'm wrong, but do we already have confirmation of this product being recognized/ taken care of by AmigaInc.? I wish them the best and would also like to shorten your expectation for hardware capable of running AmigaOS4 down to the middle of this year (latest Fall 2007). I fear that after that it will be too late, too many people in the queue waiting for AmigaOS4 hardware to join and develop, too many already abandoned it Quote: I think many will agree with you. I am only saying that peoples who are interested in Linux should have a look at SAM before OS4 is released for it. It is an interesting platform and when they sell more SAMs, it also has more future as a platform for OS4. I think Amiga Inc. is looking for an economically strong business partner for OS4. When ACube sells many SAMs to Linux users and already has a strong position by sales to Amiga users, it should help a lot for the talks with Amiga Inc.
The problem is, that your thinking only applies to a closed market (embedded systems) where no other hardware is available (or at least only a few other solutions). IF people using Linux looks for hardware to run it on, they won't go searching for the SAM board, sad as it is and interesting as it is. AmigaOS4 is the only chance for this board to survive, because they (ACube) can't compete with the big birds out there, so i hope and pray that they got the secure deal for AmigaOS4 on their hands. I don't want to loose that company, they already made promises true and will make many people with broken cpu's happy AmigsOS4 users again (and i really hope i can count me to them in a few weeks). All good wishes to ACube and the others trying to survive on that vast hardware planet

@Helge Quote: But maybe we should buy it when it is released to get familiar with the hardware. We can use the time to buy expansions and develop better and more drivers. When OS4 is then released for Samantha, let's say around Christmas, we have a very polished system.
And if not? Quote: Some years ago we have done the same with the AmigaOne. When we bought it, it was only running Linux. Most peoples waited patiently, some less patiently, for OS4 to run on it. With SAM it would be not much different.
So i can safely add me to the people that WILL wait for a hardware that actually CAN run AmigaOS4. Same problem was with Pegasos hardware. Back then the dealers said, yes, it will, one time, be able, most surely, if not really maybe, run OS4. If i had fallen for that i would have had (well not anymore, i' d sold it since then) hardware i can't/won't use for the purpose i'd bought it. Let's wait and see edit: grammar

@Elwood Quote: Quote: 3. 680x0 to PPC JIT emulation in E-UAE
I remember there were talks about it some time ago. I wonder what happened...
In case i repeat myself, the EUAE mailinglist is a great source of information regarding this subjects Quoting a post from Richard Drummond dated 23 Apr 2006 21:06:46 Quote: Quote: > JIT in OS4 > kind of refers to Petunia! This was presented in OS4 update#4. > Richard?
Nope. E-UAE cannot use Petunia on OS4.0. Petunia would need to provide an API where it could compile and launch code in E-UAE's virtual address space and provide some means of giving control back to E-UAE periodically (not just running a function until it hits an RTS).
