@Severin and others
1. AmigaAmp works fine but just freezes the system upon exit. I'll leave that to last.
2. Finalwriter, thanks I have given up.
3. SnoopDos, great news that is one useful program.
4. Organiser - Correct that was the problem, all fixed and running.
I also had a few glitches with FXpaint, FXScan and VHI Studio, all fixed now. (Libs, Fonts and a couple of other files)

Still tweaking but here goes:
1. AmigaAmp freezes the system at exit (will try a re-install
2. Final writer Gurus, nothing seems to help.
3. SnoopDos won't snoop (doesn't work).
4. Pagestream 4 won't load (library related, I expect to solve this today).
5. Digita Organiser doesn't load.
All in all just minor irritations, some which I expect will get sorted. On the plus side the system is fast and stable put that together with MPlayer, DvPlayer and Ibrowse 2.4 and this OS is going places.

@poweramiga Totally agree. Works absolutely fine here. Where do people get off being such detractors, always looking for something to moan about rather than being grateful. It is really annoying.

Nuts Spent last night playing with FlashPlayer and SWFlash. One was just too slow but with fair sound, the other too fast with sound out of synch.
Just tried the plugin and same with the sound being out of synch and animantion too fast. Any way of tweaking this?
Nonetheless, thanks it is a good starting point.

I think the critical issues for Amiga OS4X are highlighted in the title.
1. How do we raise a software libraries (all software) sufficient to draw old or new users to the AOS4 platform?
2. How do we train new devolopers and users, how do we educate and further develop our current developers?
2. Given the complexity of modern software how can we ensure maintenance or development of that library and of the developers behind it?
All fairly simple questions but which require complex solutions. The questions can be further complicated by open source v closed but to be realistic I think AOS4 has a nice balance so far.
Comments?

@SensibleSoccer
Look at the world today it has changed dramatically from the heydays of Amiga classic. We have quality releatively cheap game consoles coming out our bums. Yet wWhat we lack is a quality responsive, small footprint and intuative Desktop/PDA etc OS'. AmigaOS is in a great position to get there but we have to be realistic it will take time. The Hyperion guys and developers have been working their guts out to get us this far and the distance to travel again is just as immnense.
If you are holding out for games you are wasting your time go and get a console, or do what I did, sit a PC next to your A1, not that I use it much.
Good things are built on solid foundations, good buildings take time and care to build and all that won't happen without skillful craftsmen and astute project managers.
Be patient, play games on your mobile/console/set-top or whatever. Allow our craftsmen time to produce quality.

@all I guess then the story is not all bad here. ICab has gone on from 68k to PPC and has developed into a very nice broweser for a limited audience, is there any way it could be redirected at AOS4 and synergies achieved?

@All Easily my A1 933 XE. I thrashed my A1200/30 to death and loved it dearly, I didn't even scratch the surface of what it could do (now that I look at Amikit).
The A1 despite the "quirks" is brilliant and if that gives way to new refined HW so much the better.
I think something that has been forgotten about the A1 development was back in those days (yes old time IT wise) non Apple PPC HW was almost non existent, so it was inevitable we would face some problems.
Now I am informed that our memory bus is old and slow, well whooopppee things can only improve on this speed, brilliant.
The AOS4 team has done a magnificent job and set up a solid foundation on which a truly remarkable OS can continue to develop.

For me with an A1 XE 933 (which I love even with it's well known short comings), I am waiting for PANDA. Hope it all works out.

This may have already been covered elsewhere if so my apologies. I used to have no luck with logging into other Amiga sites with AWEB, I believe many others also had the same problem.
Logging in with Ibrowse was a doddle, however, the opposite is happening on this site for me, I mark store the cookie for one year but Ibrowse does not respect that but AWEB does.
This is not an AWEB v Ibrowse thread (I love and use them both) but rather I am trying to understand why this is happening.
