@TiredOfLife What mixer software do you refer to? In OS 3.9 i'm using GhostMix but that doesn't seem to work with OS4. And the mixer in OS4Depot is only usable with an A1/MicroA1.
and btw. i copied the Elbox drivers by hand.
EDIT: ah i see you meant the mixer on the MMCD . I'll try it out tomorrow...
@nubechecorre The graphic corrution is always there, goes away when you enter screenmode-prefs, click auto-scroll and save prefs. I have Terratec sound card but haven't got it working on OS4 yet. The fast ethernet card works normally as in OS 3.9. You install the drivers the same way as in OS 3.9.
just copy PCI.library to LIBS: & Voodoo.card to LIBS:Picasso96 and comment out PCIGraphics.card & Voodoo.chip from kicklayout to use Elbox drivers. Vice versa for OS4-drivers only .
@nubechecorre I have an existing OS 3.9 -installation that i use too . I just renamed files with it and always did a hard reset (3-finger salute for 6secs), used "BOOTLOADER VERBOSE", also checked with Scout that OS4 really used the NEW kernel and not the ORIGINAL one. So it works with the new kernel but not with the OS4 graphic drivers.
Well today i fired up my Miggy and did some tests. I've installed the classic OS4-update for BPPC/CSPPC:
1. used newest Elbox-drivers (PCI.library & Voodoo.card -- commented out in kicklayout: PCIGraphics.card & Voodoo.chip) with ORIGINAL kernel (52.15): --> OS4 bootmenu accessible and WB loads OK!
2. used newest Elbox-drivers (PCI.library & Voodoo.card -- commented out in kicklayout: PCIGraphics.card & Voodoo.chip) with UPDATED kernel (52.21): --> OS4 bootmenu accessible and WB loads OK!
3. used OS4-drivers (PCIGraphics.card & Voodoo.chip in kicklayout -- deleted PCI.library & Voodoo.card) --> bootmenu NOT accessible and NO booting at all
Haven't yet tried with OS4-drivers and ORIGINAL kernel but will do if necessary.
@TiredOfLife How did you get the Terratec 512i working? A step-by-step guide perhaps ? In AHI-prefs i can see the FM801-AHImodes but can't hear a thing with "test sound" button. What mixer to use with OS4?
Got to admit it's been quite quiet lately and the courtcase feels it's stalling things. Right now i'm waiting for the OS4 classic fixes for graphics, sound and internet. In the meantime i can browse OS4Depot for stuff, use my 3.9 installation to fiddle around and to play with WHDLoad .
@pvanni Yes i've downloaded that but the modules don't work yet (no MinMax support for instance), until the author makes them work. Meanwhile sent an email to WindowMenu author Andre D?rffler.
@PEB I didn't find a contrib-drawer or WindowMenu on OS4-cd for that matter. Could you upload the commodity somewhere if you have it? Thanks in advance!
EDIT: and DepthMenu 68k doesn't work in OS 4 btw. Throws some kind of error when trying to run it.
@ZeroG Yes there were zoom gadgets on MUI , but they didn't minimize/maximize the window right, just resized them oddly. DepthMenu was so handy at what it did.
@ZeroG I could try with that first. I've just grown used to a menu popping up with selection to minimize/maximize/normalize rather than use some SHIFT key. But i'll give it a try .
I was browsing OS4Depot a while ago and it turned up that DepthMenu was compiled for OS4 also . But the modules weren't working at all. Especially the desired MinMax-module wasn't even there. With MinMax-module you could minimize/maximize/normalize the window pressing right mouse button on the depth gadget.
Is there any other way or commodity to add the same kind of functionality to OS4? Hmm...should i use the 68k version of DepthMenu which has working MinMax-module?
