Re: AmigaDeveloper.com Team Progress Update

Hi Chris,

Enhancer Software Standard is supplied with RadeonHD v1.16 which is a special version enabled for use with Warp3D Nova.

The RadeonHD v2 driver will of course be updated with critical bug fixes if they arrive, that would be remiss of us not to address these.

The RadeonHD v2 driver on the Enhancer Software Plus will be updated inside the package to ensure it interoperates with the other components in the Enhancer Software. Our primary development focus is of course on building the Enhancer Software platform because so many future software projects depend on it.

Hi.

The discount is deducted in the shopping bag. The price will go down if A qualifying product is already purchased on your account.

Thanks.

Hi Virginio

Difference between v1 and v2 is composited video support.

The new version 2.15 is on the Enhancer Software Plus because they are needed for the new Warp3D Nova. Did you already get the Enhancer Software because all RadeonHD v2 customers get a discount in AMIStore?

Regardless, we will probably update the standalone v2 driver in future for existing customers.

Thanks

@pepe

The minimum vintage card to support Nova (and its Shaders) would have to have the Radeon R300 chipset, the R250 is simply too old.

Now if anyone wants to help get a driver done for R300, contact me - I will do everything that I can to help.

Some more really good news today, the following developments were completed:

Warp3D Nova v1.28
OpenGL ES 2.0 library v1.4

The new additions are Mip Mapping to complement the recent Stencil buffer support!

Another large step forward for 3D on AmigaOS.

@Swoop

Hi,

The Enhancer Software Standard contains a lot of new software for a wide range of 4.1 systems.

The majority of the components in the Enhancer Software will work with any system which has 4.1 Update 6 or Final Edition. So you will be able to use the new versions of MultiEdit, MultiViewer, Exchanger, ClipViewer, RequestChooser, InfoWindow Tool, Ringhio Notifications, TuneNet, SFS2, AmiDVD, PartitionWizard, X-Dock, new Format tool, all the new classes, gadgets and datatypes.

With your system, the only parts which will not work are the RadeonHD driver, CANDI and Warp3D Nova.

Please check out: http://wiki.amiga.org/enhancersoftware for more information

@ChrisH

The RadeonHD 5450 is supported fully by the RadeonHD v2 driver. We certainly would want to talk to any coders out there that want to use the new Warp3D Nova DDK to develop a 3D driver for the 5450.

@pepe

Don't worry, I wouldn't want to speak for them of course, however, I would speculate that Hyperion will, resource permitting, continue to update their classes, gadgets and libraries etc in future as they have done in the past. It is best to look out for any announcements on their website and/or blog for official news.

The majority of the applications/utilities in the Enhancer Software are built on fresh new classes, gadgets and libraries so these need regular future investment and development to provide the functionality that we require going forward. Wherever possible, these are also ported for OS3 so it is important to get a common code base.

AmigaDeveloper.com Team Progress Update

Quite a regular

Over the last few months, a *lot* of work has been done quietly in the background by the AmigaDeveloper.com Team. I am very grateful for their hard work and also the great work by the beta test and translation team who diligently every week assist in ensuring the software meets good standards.

The Team now numbers 21 developers and work on both the OS4 and OS3 version of the Enhancer has resulted in a more than 500 additional commits to the source code repository. Many applications, classes and libraries have been updated and there are some exciting new additions to the Enhancer Software.

Resized Image

OpenGL ES 2.0 library has now been extended to include Stencil buffer support for use with the new Warp3D Nova v1.27. This will no doubt be welcomed by 3D games developers who want to port OpenGL ES 2.0 games across to AmigaOS.

TuneNet has been updated now to add localisation language support. This was much requested and I hope it will please the many users that contacted me for it. It now also features an Arexx interface so it can be controlled by a Rexx script or command.

MultiViewer v2, Ringhio Notifications and X-Dock have had a lot of tweaks and changes over the last few months to meet user requests and suggestions.

We are encouraged and pleased that users are so passionate about the Enhancer Software project and the enthusiastic feedback we have received over the last few months. It is a really a positive motivational factor to help us continue investing in new software development.

Sorry to hear that, I can only apologise that it did not work on your card. It seems a compiler issue caused the problem. This issue has now been identified and resolved and we are preparing a new version of the driver for you and the rare cases where other customer systems were also affected. Unfortunately, it did not affect any of the beta testers systems or graphics cards, so I am sorry that this bug slipped through the net during testing process.

If you wish to have early access to the new driver update, then please get in touch directly with me.

(BTW: small point, the RadeonHD v2 driver was not 70 EUR and is discounted heavily for X1000 customers who of course have the RadeonHD v1 free of charge with their system)

I don't think so because I offered a Ringhio update to Hyperion but they declined it.

Going forward, we will be offering the Ringhio Notifications updates and many other exciting new software through the Enhancer Software releases. For example, there is an updated AmiDVD, TuneNet, PartitionWizard and SmartFileSystem 2 exclusively on the forthcoming Enhancer Software release.

As part of the many hours of development of the Enhancer Software, we have updated Ringhio Notifications. If you recall, Ringhio was left without any major development for many years, but since acquiring it, the AmigaDeveloper Team has updated it a dozen times already.

The latest update of Ringhio Notifications, by AmigaDeveloper.com Team member, zzd10h has added ColourWheel support- following on from previous great work by another AmigaDeveloper.com Team member, rwo.

Here is a sneak preview of the new update 53.46, which is found on the forthcoming Enhancer Software:

In addition to ColourWheel support, Ringhio Notifications has been brought up to Final Edition specifications with AISS NewMenus, Hint popups, window snapshotting and we have added support for our new gadget classes such as InfoWindow class.

Back at Amiwest 2015, A-EON announced the formation of the AmigaDeveloper.com programme to promote increased paid development in AmigaOS applications, utilities, drivers and libraries.

Since then, the work has been steadfastly ongoing by the developers that signed up to help.

We are very grateful for their contribution and dedication and as a result over 2000+ commits have been made to the AmigaDeveloper.com SVN in this short time. Some great new software has been created as a result from that huge effort.

Shortly, the first results of this work will be released in the form of the Enhancer Software for OS4. Wherever practical, the software created is co-authored in tandem on OS3 so two branches are maintained.

Apart from the developers, special mention should be made to the small team of beta testers and graphics/artwork gurus who have also helped make this project possible.

I will give you a small sneak peak of the InfoWindow.class, developed by one of the talented devs, which is used extensively on all applications in the Enhancer Software.

Here is the latest pictures of the new OctaMEDPlayer v8.1 running under AmigaOS 4.1 and AmigaOS 3.9

The new version uses AHI and is fully ReAction based. It is still work to do but the project has been ported/rewritten from the original 68K assembler to C code by a very capable developer who has been commissioned by A-EON Technology.
