Re: Amigans Theme for TuneNet

@Valiant,

TuneNet is looking for an assign called:

"TBImages"

which should be set up when AISS installs.

Open a cli and type:

assign

..to see if TBImages is listed. If it isn't then something has gone wrong with the AISS installation. Try installing AISS again is my suggestion.

Mason: Any ideas?

Thanks, Bean, that was the problem. For some reason AISS in WBStartUp doesn't execute, so I have to manually do it in User-Startup. Once TBImages is assign TuneNet works just fine.

As for that problem with info in the listview showing up as garbage, when TuneNet first starts up everything is displayed correctly, but when the individual songs start to play the song info turns to garbage. Hope that helps...

I installed AISS, rebooted, and started TuneNet again, but it still complains that it needs AISS installed. What's wrong?

Other than my A1-XE, my next favorite Amiga would have to be my 3000T and then the CD-32.

Erm, you ask between the difference of Alien Breed 3 Tower Assault and Alien Breed 3D?

Alien Breed 3D is an First Person Shooter placed in the Alien Breed Universe - but i personally don't liked it. The Demo looked IMHO nicer than the full release (the demo has other 3D Alien Models) and Alien Breed 3 Tower Assault is an old school 2D Top Down action games which inludes in the CD32 version some FMV sequences and Alien Breed 2.

My favorite Games are:
Alien Breed 3 - Tower Assault
Der Clou! (The Clue!)
Flink
Pirates! Gold

and some others i can't remember.

btw: if i remember correctly i had bought an second copy of Alien Breed 3 TA a few years ago - i will check this tonight.

Thanks for the info, cHaOs667. I would have like to have gotten Tower Assault or even Pirates! Gold but all Softhut has at the moment is Alien Breed 3D, and just the AGA floppy version at that, not a CD32 one. I went ahead and ordered it so I'll give it a try and see how I feel about it.

Just a thought on this, maybe it should be in AmigaGuide and published in different parts for different revisions of the OS.

Does anyone know if there is a tool for generating AmigaGuides to another format ( like a Wiki )?

Would something like ag2html or guide2html from Aminet work? I haven't tried them myself, but you might want to take a look at them.

The FAQ in AmigaGuide is an excellent idea. Great to see you're working on it.

Well, Softhut didn't have Superfrog in stock anymore and they don't list Pirates! Gold, so I'm going to try Alien Breed 3D which they do have listed. I know Zant recommended Tower Assault, so I'm wondering what the differences are?

maybe a poll forum is the answer, all polls in one place so we don't have to keep falling over the things.

Great idea! And the forum shouldn't appear on the front page. If people want to participate they'll know where to go.

There's nothing wrong with AmigaBASIC, other than being slightly dated. I've used it to program my AmiGen genealogical database using ACE, a BASIC compiler. The BASIC interpreter as supplied by M$ to Commodore/Amiga, on the other hand, is a complete mess. Fortuanately, it hasn't worked on any Amiga for quite some time now.

I'd like to buy a new game for my CD32.
